Pros: Location, location, location, owner day use privileges, owners don't pay parking or resort fees, resort is well maintained and well run. Some of the staff has been there for years. There is onsite underground parking, there are bicycles and beach gear available at no cost.
Cons: The MF are somewhat high relative to other resorts (imo) - I am comparing it to my other ownerships - SDO, Quarter House, and Worldmark - but it isn't exorbitant or out of line for the area. The kitchens are efficiencies with a hot plate vs a stove.
You can compare the MF it to the cost of staying at the Glorietta Bay Inn or the El Cordova. I honestly don't recall what our MF are - we own an EOY - but I would say in the range of $1,400-$1,500. Dues are due in July. Property taxes are about $50/year? (We live in SD county so everything is rolled up into one bill).
There are four types of rooms - studios, 1 bedrooms with a door, 1 bedrooms with a curtain instead of a door, and two bedrooms - but one of the bedrooms definitely has a curtain. It has something to do with fire codes. We own a one bedroom with a door. It is a nicely sized unit.
Room descriptions
Just on location alone, this is a huge upgrade from SDCE. What weeks are they offering? If not summer, then consider September as the weather is really nice at that time of year.
Feel free to DM me if you want more info.
Btw I don't know what was located on this property before the resort was built, but according to
history of Coronado Beach Resort it opened in 1992.
