i had a TS week at WMB, and thought it was long gone, but I have recently been contacted by a collection agency about unpaid fees owed to Newport Homeowners Assoc (may not be remembering the name correctly)

does anyone know anything about this? Did the Westgate TS part of the resort get sold to newport?

I am trying to track down the source of this bogus claim for fees so any info about these places would be a help.

thanks

Newport Beachside Resort existed before Westgate. Early in the Westgate years it bought into a portion of Newport and has since sold all of it's weeks/units there.

This is one of the few properties that is not actively managed by Westgate. It has it's own seperate HOA and all exchanges, reservations, maintenance billing etc goes through the Miami Newport office and not Westgate Orlando office.

I visited about a week ago for a one night stay and noticed there is no indication of Westgate anywhere. No name on any signs, no photos of DS on the walls, no salespeople etc. It appears to the laymen as a simple independent hotel.

Funny thing is it was once the tallest building on the beach but it is now dwarfed on all sides by huge towers.

If you have any questions about true viability of the claim you can call the Westgate Newport HOA office direct. They are right in the building.
