What experience have people on this list had with timeshare exit companies? I spoke to two of them and got sales pitches that bore an uncanny resemblance to the sales pitch that sold me a timeshare in the first place.

No such thing. You will only feel like even more of a sucker when they are done draining your funds.

They can't do anything that you can't do yourself. Sell it. Give it away, pay someone to take it, or default and suffer the consequences. It may not be as painful as you think. If your TS is paid off (no mortgage) they may just foreclose and you'll be done. No credit hit.

If what you are wanting out of is the Mexican one in your profile, just default and your membership is 'gone'. The vast majority are 'Right To Use' and there is no ownership involved.

The simple and most honest answer is no, they are all rip off scams.

The Votes are in and everybody says NO.

All exit companies live in a barrel of manure. Most of them smell worse than anything you have ever smelled in your life. The best of them still smell like s**t.

No exit company has a secret method of getting people out of their timeshare. They will do exactly what you can do yourself for free but charge you thousands, or even tens of thousands of dollars. This includes foreclosure. Don’t be fooled by the homey southern drawl of their radio ads or the BBB ratings, even the “best” of them will consider a foreclosure a successful exit and worthy of your thousands of dollars.

The difference is that the timeshare sales people make it sound like your TS is worth tens of thousands of dollars whereas the exit companies more realistically convince you that your TS is worth zero or less dollars.

They are all scams. Every single one of them.
