Hi everyone. I love my own six timeshare weeks (3 at Oyster Bay in St. Maarten that I use, 1 in St. Maarten plus 2 in South Africa that I trade), almost all bought resale on the TUG classifieds, ebay, etc. I have learned so much from all of you! Now I'd love some help on behalf of a colleague who knows I follow timeshare issues is asking me about using the company "www.outoftimeshare.net" to help them sell their unwanted week. I have read various threads about avoiding Postcard companies that charge an upfront fee, I read the list of legitimate sales and rental websites, I realize there is a section of TUG on how to sell. But I have searched the BBS and can't find anything about this "Out of Timeshare" company. I see their own website but I'd love to know anything that the BBS board knows. Two questions: 1. does anyone know anything about this company? and 2. might it be possible to have a permanent list somewhere of companies to avoid in selling, the way the sticky lists legitimate ones? Thanks, everyone - TUG BBS is the best!! Judith

Not trying to be a SA, but I think the sticky would say for sure to avoid them all.

As I have yet to see any of them get a thumbs up here..

But maybe if you could list the area, State or something close without given an actual resort, you just may get some good referrals for local sales people/companies.

Good luck to your friend.

Their web site says

"Please understand that we are not a timeshare listing service nor are we a timeshare resale agency to whom you pay money on the speculation that the timeshare may sell."

I suspect they will take your friend's timeshare off his hands for a fee of $3000 or $4000.

First have him see if his resort witl take a deedback. Sometimes it may take being persistent with a good sob story. IF he just wants it off his hands, that is an easy way.

Better yet, put it on auction on ebay or www.bidshares.com with a starting price of $1.
