Any allergy conscious restaurants in vicinity of Atlantis?

Traveling to Harborside with a child who is allergic to many things, to name a few - dairy, eggs, nuts, etc.
Curious if any restaurants in Atlantis and nearby actually apply good practice to separate products when preparing meals?
Murray Deli might be, if they are Kosher. Any other leads?
Thanks in advance.

Murray deli is not kosher, so that won't help you.

Now you have the best excuse I can think of to hit up the other Atlantis! :)

(I have daydreams about doing an Atlantis and Atlantis trip...)

Don't really care if its Kosher, just want to make sure that they practice reasonable steps to separate products during meal prep to avoid cross contamination.
Disney is really good about it -- wish more places would commit.

On a slightly unrelated note: The prevalence of food allergies these days amazes me. 60 years ago, the army would give out peanut butter as rations, you didnt have GIs droppinglike flies from a sandwich. But all the hand washing and "cleanliness" over the years has had a reverse effect on us, causing what was once a normal pathogen that the body could combat into horrible allergies, even to the point of rejecting things the body should be able to withstand or digest.

All these books about when to introduce certain foods at certain times to babies is hogwash, ive been telling my sister with new children that every chance i get.

Your observation would be partly due to the fact that those with severe food allergies would likely already be dead. Since you don't have to live with this, I can understand your lack of appreciation for my survival. Fortunately, during World War II food deprivations many European children with food sensativities all of a sudden didn't die. What was going on? And thus, these food allergies were advanced in science. My own reaction to gluten, which has a genetic component, may be something my niece and nephew won't have to face if they avoid gluten until after age 2. Then they can avoid severe childhood anemia, etc., and, most importantly, never never annoy you with their health issues.

The more you know... Well, we know the ending to that, don't we?

You must have misunderstood me and especially my observations. I work with a group of physicians, and have had this discussion with many different colleagues.

The prevalent use of anti bacterial soap and the luxury we have to eliminate so many germs in our living spaces and on our bodies can actually have the adverse effect of limiting the exposire your immune system gets to different pathogens, therefore causing ones body over react when presented with the pathogen later in life.

There was a day when a kid scraped their arm and gramps said rub dirt in it, that is actually exposing the wound to more germs, but for good cause. He wasnt that crazy after all.

Flash forward to today, scrape? Anti bacterial, bandaid, neosporin.

The more you think you know ....

They you have access to the studies about withholding food exposure in cases of a known or suspected genetic susceptibility? Perhaps they can be debated (though for certain foods I don't see any room for debate), but they are certainly not hogwash.

Don't count on it. If I were you I'd plan on stopping at a grocery store and eating meals in you unit. And make your own lunch and eat it at the pools.

The more we know about the multiple genes involved in the development of atopy, the clearer it becomes that the genetic background alone cannot explain the increase in prevalence. This became particularly clear in studies comparing East and West German populations after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989; these were populations of a similar genetic and geographic background living under similar climatic conditions yet under quite different lifestyles.

If you are interested in this topic, as I'm sure you are, feel free to message me. I have a plethora of medical studies, reports, comparitive charts/graphs from the past 5 decades related to this topic.

I think your best bet is packaged food or prepare it yourself. There is A LOT of people and food going through those restaurants, so to be safe, dont risk it.

Disney caters specifically to children...that is why they care enough. Just like their cruise boats have true pediatricians on them, unlike most, if not all, other cruise lines.

Since you mentioned a milk allergy, I just didn't want you to assume that since it is a NY style deli that things were separated. I know all too well the issue of restaurants making mistakes; my husband had a patient who dies from a milk allergy because the restaurant made a mistake. So, whether genetic or environmental components are the major causation, these allergies are very real and, for some people, extreme caution must be taken.

Getting back to OP question.

My child has an egg allergy (which doesn't sound as bad as what you're dealing with). When at Atlantis, I simply asked the waiter about it, and I remember at Carmine's in particular the chef came out and made sure whatever we ordered would be prepared in an egg-free manner. It was very nice of them.
