We have a week odd year, but anytime of year (choose any week of 52 weeks) in the Terrace building of The Ridge Tahoe. It is a two bed two bath sleeps 6 unit. We purchased in 1994. We can no longer use it. Due to health issues for my wife and I (I have cancer) we can no longer use it and do not want to burden family after we’re gone. Any advice on how to get rid of it? Nothing is owed either on title or maintenance fees. We’re paid up and nothing is owed until maintenance fee due again Jan 2023 (right now $1280). Year 2023 would be the new owners first opportunity to schedule/reserve their week. Actually I believe Dec 15, 2022 would be first week as we have done in years gone by. Anyway we are of course willing to just give it away. Anyone been in the same situation at the Ridge and would be willing to share their experience or advice?
Thank you

I am not sure if this has value but if not you can try responsibleexit.com and see HICV will deed it back.

1. List it for sale on TUG2 (www.tug2.com). The fact that you are paid up through 2022 is a plus.
2. List it for free on TUG's Free-timeshare-giveaways-and-bargain-deals here on TUG BBS. Again, paid ahead is a plus.
3 Contact the resort's HOA. Explain the situation, offer to deed back to the association.
4. Do nothing. Let them foreclose.
5. If all else fails, tell your next of kin that they are not required to take ownership in the event of your demise. (Won't work if they are already co-owners on the deed.)

I know nothing about the resort or any affiliation it might have.

Best wishes to you. We will all be in your situation if we live that long.

I’m glad for any response so thank you. I’m very sorry, I should have noted that The Ridge Tahoe was bought by Holiday Inn Club Vacations on Nov 12, 2019. That might make a big difference.

HICV Holiday Inn Vacation Club is listed in responsibleexit.com. Call the number and see if they will deed it back. Good luck.

That is such an amazing place. we have been going there every year for many years and our kids loved that place when they were with us. I do not own there was just getting getaway. I hope someone will get it from you and enjoy it for many years. I'm so sorry for your health. Take care.

HICV has the horizons program to take back paid off deeds

Thanks, we had many good times there, too.

I currently am selling my deed back to holiday inn at the ridge. I turned my paperwork in back in January and I called last week sounds like it will be a done deal come June or July. Let me know if you need phone number to the deed department to start with the buy back. I think they are giving me $1,200 for my ever summer Nagle.

HICV is paying you to turn in your timeshare? That doesnt seem right

Update on the deed buy back Holiday inn offers. So I sent in all my notary paperwork forms back to Holiday inn back on 1/22/2021 today 10/18/2021 I received my official paper work along with a check for $1,073.00 for a Every summer Nagle building deed. I purchased this via resale ten years ago and it served it's purpose.

I bought Worldmark resale at a very good price last January and have been to so many places. Just got back from Kihei, Hawaii and it was fantastic. The maintenance fee about the same with the Ridge. Now I get two weeks of vacation a year instead of one at the same location.
