Another NewBe Question -- New York City

Another NewBe question here. I will have quite a few as I figure this stuff out.

Is NYC impossible to get? I know that if you do not own the NYC club that you have to wait 44 days. Then, it is a gajillion points and no 2 bedrooms.

Does having HGVC help me at all in booking hotels in NYC? I know I can convert to HH points and then try to book that way but the conversion rate isn't great and not sure that is the best thing to do. Is my best bet just to hotwire something for NYC? Any other tricks?

I would say its possible to get a studio but larger is harder to get.

We did just check out of the Hilton Club a few min ago, and we got in through RCI. Hilton club isn't available internally with HGVC and if you call and get a good rep sometimes they can find west 57th and Hilton Club in RCI. We had our pick of a studio at either.

I know the manhattan club also has studios and 1 bedrooms. They are nice and we have stayed here a couple of years ago. I would say the studios are nice we had one of each and they were basically the same but the 1 bedroom had and extra bath and the suite bay doors.

I do not know of any other properties in NYC and usually all I find are studios so larger may be harder to get. I would recommend all 3. If you do convert to HHonors I would suggest making sure its for the next year as its a bit better but not much. Good Luck
