I have a conference in Las Vegas in May and have been watching II every couple of days. I have an Ocean Pointe studio deposited and was hoping to snag a Grand Chateau 1 BR for it - I did that once before. If I put in a request, all I can ask for is another studio, so I have been watching. There have been units available for later weeks, but not the week I need.

This morning I look - and there is a 2 BR unit showing up! I got a 2 BR Grand Chateau for my OP studio. I am quite pleased. So now my wife and I will go out a few days early and have a mini vacation before my conference begins and we can even invite another couple to join us with the extra bedroom. I love my Marriotts for trading.

Yes - but I feel I have done extremely well over the years with my 2 Marriott properties.

I see you own in Spain - I will be returning to Marriott Marbella for the 2nd time in July 2009. We loved it the first time and I got the trade back there again just recently.
 
I know what you mean about frustrating. We had a request in since Dec last year for Hawaii for June 2009- NADA. So we switched to a 2bd request for Aruba in June, got it in a couple of days, although a little unusual. A 1bd and and efficiency (both with different views). But we are still waiting on 1 of 4 resorts for May 2009. Hoping it comes through soon since the FF miles are going fast. We asked for 1bd or higher, Harborside at Atlantis, Westin St John, Frenchmans cove, or St kitts. Using our Timberlodge plat summer week to trade for it.
 
Yes, we live in the UK and have 2 gold weeks at Playa which we use for points or exchange. So far we've exchanged into Hawaii, Aruba and Phuket and we're more than happy with that.

Tomorrow we leave for Son Antem which is a leftover week from the request into Aruba. We were waiting for the second week to come through and then personal circumstances meant we could only go for the one week - a long trip from the UK!!

We've stayed at Marbella and really like that place. The Don Carlos hotel nearby is a popular haunt of the famous and its beach club at Nikki Beach is THE place to be!
