I shared this on Facebook a lot today and thought you all might find it interesting.

Staying at Desert Blue this week. Made me go to the marketing desk (owner services) to get my wristbands where they asked me for an update. I said I’d only go for 150. As a single owner. He asked his manager if that was ok and got a yes. I turned off my card before I gave it to him so he couldn’t take a deposit (if they said something about it I was going to tell them to cancel the update). No deposit, free 150. Now let me tell you about my visit.
“How much do you own?” 615000. “You’re a resale owner. How much did you pay for all that? “With all of my timeshares including 14000 shell points (which I love) as well as a week at Tahiti Village (also love) and two weeks at Big Bear CA which I’ve only exchanged with so far, $1000. I know you’re going to tell me you can rewrite my contract to be all access, which would be nice. Just 2/3 are access and I love my 13 month reservation period, but the lowest you’re going to offer to do that for me is 13,500”. “Actually it’s 15k”. “Exactly. What can you offer me? I know about Blue Thread, the travel and leisure buy out (it won’t affect owners at all. Know that. ) and there’s really no lie you could sell me. Why am I here? Put me on the Do Not Gift list. Salesman says that list is very real. Told me to call owner services. Owner services says the list doesn’t exist anymore and noted my account.
I’ve never spent more than 30 minutes in a meeting. One time they made me wait half an hour. I walked up to them (in New Orleans) and said I was leaving in another half hour. They’d better hurry up. Gifted me and left.
I don’t want to waste their time, and I don’t want them to waste time. The marketing department at checkin gets paid for each person they send so they have a VESTED interest in making you go. Don’t go? They don’t get paid. That’s why it’s so hard to say No.

This was after ignoring 5 polite no's.

I tried to take the latest appointment of the day. They normally give me my gift and says I can go.

That’s an interesting tactic. Gonna keep that one in the back of my mind. I took the first one of the day to get it over with and not disrupt family plans.

I've decided to have a different perspective on the presentations. I'll go and stonewall them and save an unsuspecting buyer from getting taken advantage of for $200. though I may do the pic program in a few years so it isn't a forever no. just a not any time soon lol

I think the same thing. I watched them roll back a woman in a wheelchair and oxygen tank in New Orleans. They never keep me with the main group. I had all kinds of questions planned to save those people. It’s obscene what some people will do to make a sale.

I may be a sick puppy, but I went from being annoyed, to now thoroughly enjoying putting them on the spot. my favorite was when I was in reunion in a private office with its own bathroom. nature called for my 4yo and he may or may not have dropped a massive deuce in the salesman's toilet while they were out of the room trying to find any sort of angle to get me with. it was their fault for leaving me alone :)

when they leave me alone I start roaming the halls and talking to other people who aren't doing anything
