Amex (Non Surpass/Aspire) Platinum & Business CC

I wonder if lululemon CEO stepping down will have any impact on them partnering with Amex Platinum to give cardholders the quarterly credits. Haven't been a platinum cardholder for a long time but am curious if anyone knows if this has happened with other incentives after an executive change.

I don't recall a similar situation to compare this with. I would guess there is some type of contract with a set length and options to renew. Sometimes these partnerships last only a year or two, and at other times, they endure for years. I am fairly certain that this deal with Lululemon will last at least a year. The credit enticed me to make my first purchase for myself, so in that sense it did help attract a new customer.

Interesting. Anyone tried that yet?

Thank you! I have an upcoming stay at a THC Hilton hotel planned for Dec 2026 but AMEX Travel only lets you book 11 months in advance. So I made a 'covering' ressie on the Hilton website and booked a Nov 2026 ressie at the hotel through AMEX travel. I'll be able to tell you in a month or so if I keep my 2nd half 2025 $300 Platinum credit when I change dates or if they claw it back.

I am liking this credit....it is a restaurant that we go to anyway...and if if you use it each quarter, then it pays for about half the card cost, then toss in the others plus lounge access, CLEAR, etc...and it definitely pays for itself.

Lesson for us all. We had this dinner on Dec 31st...last minute trying to burn the $100 Plat credit and the $20 Delta Reserve Monthly credit (I admit it is clumsy in the restaurant to ask them to charge $20 to the Delta Reserve and the rest to the Plat but they can do it) . It didn't post until Jan 1st so went into the next quarter. When I reached out to Amex to verify the quarter used, she told me that it was in the current quarter, not the last...so we missed the credit but then she told me that she was giving me a $100 goodwill credit.....nice. That is what I like about Amex....they do try to take care of folks....most of the time.

We have plans for our Q1 RESY credit in February in Pam Springs. We'll use the $25 Marriott Brilliant monthly credit in SF next week.

And don't forget the $200 airline benefit from Platinum. Just did 2 x $100 UA TravelBank purchases. We fly UA rarely, but these last for 5 years, and we will certainly use it by then.

Cheers.

On FHR I found a few gems between May and Aug.
