Amex Hilton Changes

Happy Labor Day/September Everyone!
Saw @GT75 's sticky re 2026 MFs, so presume coming soon...

1. What is the ETA for when we know the MFs for 2026 for HGVC properties & Craig Lodge?

2a. Many confusing posts re getting Aspire credit for paying just the CL MFs (not initial purchase). What is the latest on this? (? do we get Aspire 200 semi-annual credit for paying CL MFs? I presume no but curious, re others DPs).

2b. Do we get Aspire $200 Hilton credit for paying HGVC Elara MFs? (not bHC Elara just regular HGVC Elara)?

3. What is the best strategy to maximize getting HGVC Aspire Hilton $200 semi-annual credits for paying MFs? (for those with 2 Aspire cards)? (? pay some in Q4 2025 & some on Jan 1st, 2026 or shortly thereafter, ??)

Mahalo!

Yes, exactly this. We each pay $200 toward our Blvd. timeshares in Q4 and then the balance at the end of January each year (I wait until my statement closes on about th3 25th so I can push the payment into the next billing cycle and earn a few more shekels in interest.

Cheers.

Look at when lasts years MF were posted for an idea.

Excellent idea!
Looks like early October folks started posting, so coming soon...
TY!
We're never in a hurry to pay things that can be paid later so we can keep the money around longer. Usually late December for the first payment and late January (since the real due date is Feb. 15 for our contracts) for the second.

We do our quarterly airline purchase on the first day of the quarter, but we're never out the money since it gets reimbursed before we ever need to make a payment.

Cheers.

Looks like our moderator started a little early. I have heard that he will be busy this month traveling.

I don’t disagree but I’ve used it to top off a 5 night stay. So it can be worthwhile.
Same!
Use the recent promotion a month or so back to top off of five night stay at Waldorf Park city for ski week!

Man. I have not looked at our Amex interest rates in a while because we pay it in full each month and don't pay attention but I just looked and it has gone up a lot.

Interest rates on CCs are now approaching loan shark rates.

well don't keep us in suspense. what is it?

My wife's is at 29 and mine is at 25. I make sure to pay it off each month to avoid hefty interest fees.

I think the last time that I checked, which was a while ago, they were low 20's.

We pay ours off monthly also and will make sure to continue because of these crazy rates

I've never not paid a credit card off each month (except for a couple of oops moments that were erased by the company a number of years back) in like 40 years of having cards, so I don't even look at interest rates. I knew that they were high, but this is higher than I expected.

Cheers.

Ditto!

Unfortunate that many handle credit poorly and pay these hefty interest rates/finance charges etc but grateful to everyone for subsidizing our Credit Card rewards/points/benefits just like the Retail TS buyers subsidize us, Tuggers, buying Resales, at pennies on the $ for getting same benefits & optimizing our journey....

We have a heart to be sympathetic to these folks but we do use our brain too...

Just had a minor frustration with my Aspire and a hotel stay in the UK. I spent two nights at a Hilton Garden Inn at LHR, booked with points. I had an Amex offer where if you spend 300 with Hilton, you get $60 back. HGV is excluded, so it needs to be a hotel stay. I charged some food and drinks to my room, figuring that would trigger the credit, only to discover the hotel charged my credit card separately for each transaction, so I never hit the $300 minimum. oh well.
