Amex Hilton (Aspire and Surpass Only) CC Changes

Just enjoyed a glorious free night at WA Park City. room rate was $1800. great location and service. $50 f&b credit for two adults. Got upgraded to a 1 br. Going to make this place a habit!

Just snagged 4 FNC's WA Los Cabos Pedregal and will make it a full week with 3 nights at HC La Pacifica. When are you going @HuskerATL? End of February for us. Just couldn't resist. One of our FNC's expires mid March so we had to get er done. That will be three WA's in February ... Costa Rica, Panama and Cabo. I feel like such an elitist  :ROFLMAO:🤑

Nice. We will be there mid March. 3 nights in the WA and then a week in Cabo Azul

People sure are hooked on mileage cards. I wonder how much hotel cards grow spending. I have the UA card but I don't spend much on it. The Aspire is far more lucrative, due to the HGVC MFs. Then again, I almost refuse to fly anywhere for < 6 nights.
"AAL's co-brand card spend growth of 8% trails Delta's 11% and United's 14%"
That is just a quick blurb. I assume it means what it sounds like it means

It really is a juggling act. I go back and forth a lot on whether airline or hotel cards are worth putting real spend on. Lately I’ve been leaning more toward airline cards, mostly because flights are the bigger expense for us.

We’ve got plenty of HGVC points to go pretty much anywhere, whenever we want. The limiting factor is almost always airfare cost, availability, or just the hassle of it. That’s why I’m seriously looking at the Citi Strata Premier. The 3x on dining, gas, and groceries is easy spend, and being able to transfer to AA is a big plus. The Choice and LHW hotel partners don’t hurt either.

At least for how we travel, knocking down flight costs feels like it could be more valuable than piling on more hotel points.

I should have taken into account that my wife has the AA credit card & sh espends enough on that for both of us ... meaning for biz or 1st class tx whenever we fly to Asia or Europe. She has the AA CC. I am right now, this very minute prepping to buy some AAL stock @ $13.70. Come to papa

yes, I see a devaluation eventually on AA, they definitely have the best award prices out there currently.

FYI Elara MF Aspire resort credit via CS Chat:

“Thank you for staying with me!
I'm afraid your transaction is not showing as eligible for Hilton Resort Credit. Though, Hilton Grand Vacations Club Elara Center Strip Las Vegas is listed as eligible Hilton
Resort
American Express also relies on information provided to us by the merchant to identify eligible purchases, If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as eligible for this benefit, the
Basic Card Member will not receive the statement credit.
But as a valued card member I have manually issued your $200 Hilton Honors
Aspire Resort Credit for the period of Jan to
June 2025. This will be posted within 5
business days.”

So this one did apply the credit.

Simultaneously on a different browser, I requested the credit for my wife’s Aspire account. This CS agent gave me the “8 weeks” to apply the credit line. So this definitely appears to be agent dependent, so if it doesn’t fly, then try again another time.

I will say I just got a 1-way to Hawaii from SFO for 14 K miles. For SFO-Hawaii, hard to beat UA, which is why I have that card

We're quite fond of AS for Bay Area -> Hawaii. We are closer to SJC, so this is great. But they do SFO as well.

Cheers.

“Rest assured it will be automatic credit in your account.” [in two to three months]

I had a similar experience with my Elara fees last year. Definitely frustrating. It's never been clear to me if the MF payments to the HOA are really supposed to trigger the credit. But as long as it works, i will take the credit.

Wonder if one of the mods can make a sticky and we can have a list of which resorts trigger the Aspire Credit?
Rather than combing through 55 pages of threads to find every possible one?

I think part of the problem is that the credit does not always post for the same resort. For example, last year I was credited for Elara days after the charge posted. This year, it has been a few weeks and nothing while others have reported both receiving and not receiving the credit for Elara.

Oh I hadn't realized that what used to work no longer does.

Maybe then a "dp" section like on Doctorofcredit.com when people are simulating Direct Deposits via ACH with various banks.
