After 40+ years of T/S ownership, I am no longer "an owner"
OK so we used miles acquired through their credit card promo in 2010 to amass over 125k miles which we have used to buy three coach tickets from the US to Dublin, Ireland. The tickets were "bought" in June 2011 for what ended up being just over $250 including fees, taxes, etc. That was reason enough to do the happy dance! :)

When I booked, however, I was unable to get our departure flights (Milwaukee to O'Hare) together due to inventory control of the free seats, so I was flying out at 3:30p and my DH was going to have to fly at 12:30p. (for a 6:30p flight to Dublin). I checked back with them around November or December and they were able to get him moved onto the same flight as me at 3:30pm. Happy Dance . . . part 2!

Unfortunately our return flight from O'Hare into Milwaukee was going to have a 5 1/2 hr layover but that was the small price we'd have to pay, again for using mileage tickets. With their flight and schedule consolidations, however, that turned into 6 1/2 hours last month. ARGH!

I've been calling them practically daily since then to see if they had inventory open up on their 3:00p flight to Milwaukee. After weeks of "sorry . . . nothing has opened up or is available" . . . today they came through for us cutting the layover to just about 2 1/2 hours which works perfectly as my MIL's flight departs about 15 minutes before ours! BIG HAPPY DANCE! :D

Sometimes things do work out when dealing with the airlines.

That IS great news! Have a wonderful trip.

Tell you the truth, 6.5 hours isn't a really bad thing since departures delays can happen and Customs and Immigration can be a real zoo.

Still 2.5 is a good time allowance for connections for international arrivals. Glad you got the change.

Cheers

Actually coming out of Dublin, we will be cleared though US Customs there before departure, so we really did not want/need the 6+ hours at O'Hare.
