Amalfi Coast

Great place for a boutique hotel or BnB.

There are already a bunch there. All the visitor needs is money, money and more money.

I'm glad I saw this 30 years ago, before it became THE place in Italy to take a Selfie. The Cinque Terre used to be a sleepy backwater with very few visitors. Those were the days.

I have a system for visiting that area. I doubt anyone would be interested in emulating that system, though.

After 2 years of virtually zero American/Japanese/Chinese tourists, when EU opened to non-EU visitors last August, they released the pent-up demand. We were there then, and it was heavenly with no American backpackers, no busloads of matching-capped Asians crowding and selfie-ing Europe. This is NOT the Summer to 'see' Europe! It will quiet down in the off season, or book now for shoulder season travel.
