Get Wired -- Inflight Wi-Fi is Here!

http://www.alaskaair.com/as/www2/fl...id=1-1XDRKU4&wc_lid=Greeter_||20100518_AW_2||

Alaska Airlines (our favorite airline) is installing Gogo Inflight Wi-Fi Internet access on all their 737-800 and 737-900 aircraft by the end of the summer. The remainder of the fleet will be outfitted by the end of 2010.

This will make flying seem to go much faster. I am writing this from Viirgin Air on our way back from NYC. They also use Gogo Inflight Wi-Fi Internet access which works very well with my iPhone. We are flying over Arizona right now. :cool:

Thanks for posting that, Emmy!

Too bad Alaska is not cheap to Hawaii out of Denver. I would love to surf the net while flying. I would even invest in one of the netbooks, since my laptop is 17", bulky, and has absolutely no battery left for even 30 minutes of internet play. I have to stay plugged in all the time.

I saw a netbook at Sam's with a 12-hour battery. Now that is what I am talking about!

There's a long discussion on this in the Alaska Airlines forum on flyertalk.com as well.

You can plug in your computer or any electronic device with Virgin Air. I hope that Alaska Airlines will have this too. The cost was $8.75 so not bad for passing the time quickly. :)

Alaska Airlines is getting wired!

WIFI, sounds like they are getting UN-wired.:crash:

Can you explain what you mean? When I came home, I wasn't able to to transfer my pictures from our trip to Washington DC and New York City from the iPhone to the Mac or the PC. I had to call Apple for help and they were not able to resolve the problem either so I have no choice but to email each picture to myself, if I want to keep them. :wall:

All I can do is restore the iPhone back to the original setting. I am pretty upset and wonder if this has anything to do with using the GoGo Interflight Internet or if the iPhone just happened to act up at the same time. Has anyone else had this problem?
