Airport lounges, please post your experience, how to get to the lounge, if it was worthy of the visit, and if you had to go through security again...

I also visited the Etudia lounge at Warsaw airport about a week ago on a late morning flight. Breakfast was being served which consisted of warm frankfurters, sliced omelette (which didn't look appetising) sliced ham and sliced cheese, yoghurt, cereals and fruit. Beer and sparkling wine was available if you were inclined along with a small selection (3) of soft drinks and bottled water. This was a business lounge for those flying business on a selection of airlines and for Priority Pass customers. The food was pretty poor however I didn't have high expectations due to previous lounge experience in Warsaw.

Been intending to add to this thread.

Upon departing Aruba after doing the maze of duplicate Customs and duplicate TSA checks.....
We entered the departure area and accidentally stumbled upon a Priority Pass Lounge. It was like an Oasis in the Desert!
Up to that point after having Priority Pass with the Sapphire Card I had not been able to leverage any lounges. There were never any Priority Pass lounges during my travel itineraries. It got to the point where I gave up on looking for them on my travel trips!

It was a very pleasant surprise that I will for sure remember on my next departure from Aruba!

I fly to and from DC a lot, so I frequent IAD and DCA.

IAD: I'm doing this a bit from memory, so don't quote me exactly. IAD has a lot of Priority Pass lounges, particularly in terminals A and B. I've gotten into the KLM, Virgin Atlantic, and Turkish Lounges. The KLM and Turkish lounges are similar and decently sized with nice food and beverage options. I wasn't very impressed with the Virgin lounge on my last visit. It was small and the only free drink (to my knowledge) was PBR which I'd imagine would be very limiting for some. Of note, all the PP lounges seem to meter PP guests and tend to fill to capacity after lunch each day. The Eithad Lounge is now a Chase Sapphire Lounge (well it's both I think). It looks very nice, but I haven't had a chance to visit yet.

DCA: I've only done the new American lounge here when I knew I had a long time at the airport and wanted to splurge. It was absolutely worth it. The whole area is huge, very modern, and extremely well appointed. There are several bars and a large buffet. Seating is everywhere and you have an elevated view of the terminal. I'm not aware of any "free" ways into this lounge without First class airfare or very high AA status, but this place is certainly awesome. Amex is currently working on a Centurion lounge at DCA. I'm hoping it will be open on my next visit. PP options at DCA are unfortunately nonexistent.

There is also another The Club @mco at gates 1-29. We fly United a lot and some flights go out from that concourse.

Does anybody know if flying Southwest, if going to The Club MCO Orlando at Gates 1-29 on the same Terminal A side, and returning back to the Southwest Gates requires leaving the secure area / re-clearing TSA Security. I see the posts where if you go to The Club in Gates 90-99 you have to be careful which side of the train you take ( thanks @jmhpsu93 ). Wonder if it's the same way when taking the train to gates between the same Terminal A to the main building. The way the map looks, Gates 1-29 (The Club MCO) and Gates 100-129 (Southwest) aren't connected in any way, and one must go to main terminal building and than re-clear the east/west side security check point, which would making to The Club located at Gates 90-99 the better choice if being careful of which side of the train to take.

Thanks,
Great3

ETA: I found this online at https://www.cestee.com/airport/orlando-mco/terminal

Transfer within Terminals A/B

The following procedures apply to transfers from domestic flights only.

  • Gates 1-29 <-> Gates 1-29:You stay in the same building, do not have to go through security and do not need to use the automatic train
    • 5-10 minutes
  • Gates 1-29 <-> Gates 30-59:you do not need to go through security, you take the train first to the central terminal where you change to a second automatic train to the next building
    • 15-30 minutes
  • Gates 1-29 <-> Gates 70-129:Take the train to the central terminal, exit the transit area and go through security on the other side of the lobby to board the next train
    • 30-50 minutes
  • Gates 30-59 <-> Gates 30-59:You stay in one building, do not have to go through security and do not need to use the automated train
    • 5-10 minutes
  • Gates 30-59 <-> Gates 70-129:Take the train to the central terminal, exit the transit area and go through security on the other side of the lobby to board the next train
    • 30-50 minutes
  • Gates 70-99 <-> Gates 70-99:You stay in one building, do not have to go through security and do not need to use the automated train

Thanks so much @jmhpsu93 for letting us know that's not always true, depending on which side of the train you take.

IAD Dulles United was quite good this summer. Decent buffet, espresso machine, and well-stocked, free bar service. It got crowded after 3pm.

We were at the Alaska lounges at SeaTac North Concourse and SFO Terminal 1 recently. Both were were nice and had plenty of space. The SeaTac one gets very crowded though.

We were given a complimentary lounge pass in Dublin by Air Lingus . This was the first time we had been in an airport lounge. It was a nice perk

I wish we could get one in Munich. Lufthansa normally allows economy classes to purchase but their app says the Munich one is at capacity. Our luck. We’ve never needed one like we will this time.

This has been discussed before. There are lounges at the Munich airport that you can buy a day pass for.

Yes I know. I guess with me the thing is I don’t want to leave the terminal if I can help it. Same with getting a micro hotel.
