I pray the government remember what happen, when a president terminated all the striking federal air traffic controllers decades ago.

Not sure of the accuracy of this statement. I got stuck in Newark on Saturday evening when United cancelled my flight to Montreal. They they went and cancelled my rescheduled Sunday and Monday flights to Toronto trying to get back to Canada. I eventually got home late Monday through a flight to Halifax.Flights to foreign destinations from the US are not impacted as international agreements prohibit their inclusion, but domestic connecting legs can be problematic. My son is taking a TATL flight in a few days, and so far his connecting legs are okay.
Canada is not really international to us.Not sure of the accuracy of this statement. I got stuck in Newark on Saturday evening when United cancelled my flight to Montreal. Its is now also impacting domestic flights in Canada as planes are getting stuck at US airports and miss their later day itineraries. Flights from Atlantic Canada to Toronto are also being impacted as they fly through US airspace (Maine, Vermont and New York)).
Between Saturday and today (Tuesday) I had 4 flights originally scheduled. Three flights Saturday making my way home from St Kitts and a flight this morning to Toronto on business. With the disruptions I ended up being rescheduled on a total of 12 separate flights, of which only 3 actually went.
Interesting … I see a nice big border line on my mapCanada is not really international to us.![]()
Canada is on the same continent as us, not really the same logistics as overseas flights. If you are referring to the orange guy, he certainly feels Canada is international, not sure why you think otherwise.Interesting … I see a nice big border line on my map
Wait … isn’t their a famous politician that doesn’t feel Canada is international… would have never guest you agreed![]()
Never happened.I pray the government remember what happen, when a president terminated all the air traffic controllers decades ago.
That depends on who you listen to.Canada is a international destination
They are a sovereign country
August 1981, the president fired over 11, 000 striking federal air traffic controllers.Never happened.

The might let a riffle across, but probably not a rifle.Try crossing the border with a riffle, lol.

August 1981, the president fired over 11, 000 striking federal air traffic controllers.
They were banned for life at that time to hold another federal position.
Please do your homework and research your statement and my factual statement.
it's been floated for the ones that stayed on the job when not getting paid for weeks. People now days are suppose to have emergency funds for 4-6 months, this would be an example of why seemsI remember that. Now they are getting $10k bonuses
Yeah, we'll see about that.I remember that. Now they are getting $10k bonuses
What you stated is not factual. Yes, I have done my research. Not ALL air traffic controllers were fired as in your original post. 1,300 returned and the positions were filled with new hires, military controllers and supervisors.August 1981, the president fired over 11, 000 striking federal air traffic controllers.

Pedro is correct. President fired ALL workers that continued to strike and refused his order to return to work. What you stated is not factual. Yes, I have done my research. Only those who remained on strike. People who returned were not fired. If my employees go on strike I would fire them too, and hire other people who actually want to work.Pedro is correct. President fired ALL workers that continued to strike and refused his order to return to work.
Thanks for your research. I want Tuggers to research the truth and not believe everything you heard on television, or read on the internet are factual.Only those who remained on strike. OK --- but your post #132 saying it "never happened" was a little misleading.
.
The firings actually happened but not all air traffic controllers were fired. I suppose I could google the exact number in 1981 but I'm just hoping all the air traffic controllers are on the job this Thanksgiving
