Air Canada announces Kauai service

“Air Canada is launching new service to Kauai in winter 2018, the airline announced March 7.

The flights to the Garden Isle will be operated using Boeing 737 MAX-8 planes. Additionally, Air Canada is doubling the frequency of flights offered from Western Canada to Hawaii, and is introducing the Boeing 737 Max to all of its routes from Western Canada to Honolulu, Kahului on Maui and Kona on Hawaii Island.

"The introduction of the fuel-efficient Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to our fleet has given us tremendous flexibility to strategically enhance our already extensive North American network, and offer more flights to popular destinations with more connection options from our YVR and Calgary hub airports," Benjamin Smith, president of passenger airlines at Air Canada, said in a statement....”

Thanks for posting. The Calgary to Maui is actually less capacity, because it used to be 3 per week in a bigger plane vs 4 per week in a smaller plane. Now there are 2 weekend flights, which is better for timeshare checkin.
