Ok, so a couple of weeks ago I noticed that there was "dampness" exiting our waterbed that we've been using for the last 10yrs (this is the 2nd one we've had over the last 15-20yrs)
I decided that maybe one of those Sleep Number bed thingies might be a better replacement, a bit cheaper and easier to work with (adjustment levels, moving the bed, no floods, etc)
I was shocked to encounter the "used car dealer" sales pressure when I asked about prices (very expensive!).
When I didn't bite and started to walk away, they offered a "special buy it now" discount, when that didn't close the deal they called the next day, to say they were having a "special offer" that they didn't tell me about the day before! This happened at two different bed stores.
Is this a common high pressure sales tactic for furniture?
