We ticketed Frequent Flyer miles on delta for 4 of us flying Tijuana - Mexico City - Acapulco Round trip. We leave Sunday - Yay.

We have not flown them in years - do they charge a fee for a standard 50 lb bag? Reading the luggage info on Aeromexico's website has me concerned - do they really charge $65 for golf clubs now?

So many times what is written is not really the case - I hope that's so here.

Thank you - Babs

I posted this on flyertalk but no-one ever seems to get a response unless they have "status" !!

Many Golf bags have a lot of room in them.

You might consider packing a lot of your clothes in the golf bag and just taking a carry on with the rest of your stuff. You will probably spend most of the week in your bathing suit. How much stuff do you really need? This way the golf bag is your only luggage. No extra charges.:)

That may have worked - not sure though. They charged us $65 per golf bag - flying out of Tijuana - a flat fee. It sounded like the rules were different if flying out of the US.

And - flying out of TJ was a breeze. We parked at the Otay border in a secured lot and they shuttled us right to the airport. The RT shuttle for 4 of us with a week parking was like $55.

Update - The golf bags came home for free - no charge from Acapulco back to Tijuana!
