Advice on using pooled points

I just received my transfer of ownership acknowledgement & I am trying to book a trip to Myrtle Beach SC 4/8-4/15. I have 77k Fairshare Plus points & the vacation coordinator told me I would need 154k for 1 week & that for $39 I could use my points for 2010. I have heard about the last call specials & I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on how to get this week with out using my points for the next 2 years. The trip is over Easter weekend but I thought that most people have Spring Break in March. Is it too risky to wait 45 days until we leave & try for a special?

That's Easter Week, and so you might or might not get a points discount by waiting. Even if you do, it's unlikely to be much more than 25%. I don't think it's very likely.

You could wait unitl 90 days in advance of your trip, and rent the extra 77K from Wyndham, but it will cost you $8/K, or an extra $616. You could also rent from another owner, probably for less (around $400)---the ability to do so is scheduled to end this March, so you may as well take advantage of it while you still can.
