HI All,
Planning a family trip for [specifics deleted] going with my husband, 21 year old son, and 72 year old mother. We want to rent 2bdr timeshares in Vegas and then 1 week in either Sedona or Scottsdale.
We prefer to do 4-5 nights in Vegas (then on the Grand Canyon for train ride 1/2 night stay) then onto Sedona or Scottsdale for 1 week timeshare stay.
Will consider 7 nights in Vegas and just leave early if cost effective/right resort
We need 2bd in both places.
Have looked at all the TS resorts in Vegas(I was there once and stayed at Mirage) and still VERY CONFUSED as to the best option for us.
Want to spend 900-1300 MAX in Vegas a bit more in other 2 locations.
LIke MGS (Marriott) but I am concerned there is basically not a resort type pool
Looked into Wyndham TS in Vegas but concerned the quality (especially furnishings i.e. bed comfort) will not be great and transportation to and fro strip a hassle? (saw a unit for 4 nights in Presidential Suite which was a very good price but didn't book b/c airline not booked yet)
HILTONS (Flamingo and the other further away) anyone have any input on these specifically the Flamingo and parking situation) Sounds like ideal location but what about the UNITS? What about the resort like amenities specifically being comfortable at the pool?
POLO TOWERS/VILLS DIAMOND RESOrts
Any input on these? Also Jockey Club Seems like great locations what about the POOL?
SEDONA vs SCOTTSDALE this time of year and any input on the plethora of resorts there (Had my eye on Westen Keirland but not willing to pay 2000-3000k a week) Looked at Hyatt in Sedona…any thoughts?
OK this is a lot but here goes.
Mother doesn't drive a resort within walking distance to the strip would be good for her, need pool area with a bar and shade. If easy monorail or shuttle service would be OK.
I mentioned the pool several times but we will not be at pool EVERYDAY as we plan on day trips to RED ROCK and or Lake MEAD we will have a rental car
Son husband and I play Texas HOld em poker so we want to get to casinos and get into games/tournaments easily. Mom plays slots here and there not hardcore.
I didn't like the lack of availability of a seat at the pool when I went to the Mirage (and that was in summer end of JUne ALWAYS PACKED) Not waking up at the crack of dawn to get a seat.
BEDS BEDS BEDS…need comfortable beds and linens, need operational kitchen for breakfast, lunch will be eating dinner out.
DO I need a veranda/terrace seems like a real plus for evenings, my Mother would really enjoy that.
SEDONA VS SCOTTSDALE really clueless here but that part of the stay should be a more spa like experience with nearby activities/towns and dining options.
OK TUGGERS I am so new to this forum and would really appreciate any input! I know its a handful of wish lists but have never been anywhere mentioned but Vegas and really hated the lack of walkability in the heat and the difficulty with the pool situation Mom said Sedona was beautiful but other than that we are newbies to area and TS in general.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
