What do you mean by RCI points? If you have sold all your Wyndham, how are you getting RCI points?
So thats why so many weekend nights in Chicago are unavailable.Ain't that the truth
I have a much easier time renting the high priced stuff
And regarding the value of Wyndham reservations I've rented several studios this week at $300 a night.
Remember we have New York Chicago and San Francisco available to us. Not to mention other big cities like San Diego, New Orleans and San Antonio And don't forget Washington, D.C. These are places where most timeshares don't have a presence and where hotels will cost you over $250 a night
There are PLENTY of RCI points weeks on the market. The rule here on TUG is keep RCI pts. less than a penny/point. The best deal in Fla. is Vacation Village. Ron can attest to this--- he uses VV@P 5 times on one MF. Hi Ron.
I am currently at Wordmark's Kingstown Reef in Orlando. I have the advantage of moving place to place @ last minute. In the last month, I stayed @ Wyndham's Star Island, Cypress Palms, and Bonnet Creek for $627. exchange fee plus $225. in RCI points. So I live well on less than $1200./month.
The comparisons would be --can a Wyndham points person--say Gold VIP-- do the same thing ? How many Wyndham points would $1200. MF's buy ?
Bottom line---- your already in the system--learn how to RENT more and BUY less.[/QUOiTE]
I'm not quite sure what you mean by vacation village and RCI. It sounds like what you're doing is awesome.
I know RCI Wyndham is different from RCI by itself. I have enjoyed using Wyndham-RCI points because I don't use all my Wyndham points all the time. Where do I learn more about how to efficiently use RCI by itself?
Thanks

Vacation Village at Parkway is a timeshare property in Kissimmee (near Orlando. Jeff and I happened to meet there once and he cooked me dinner
Vacation Village is affiliated with RCI and I can deposit my lockoff to RCI for 40000 TPU.
Vacation Village is a big place and there is a lot of deposits to RCI, If you travel at the last minute you can often get a one bedroom there for 5tpu.
40/5=8 as Jeff says
Lately what Ive been doing with my Vacation village is depositing it to RCI and then using Worldmarks exchange plus program to turn it into 14000 worldmark credits with which I make 2 high value reservation in the Worldmark system to rent in the $1500 range
$750 mf + $250 exchange fee =$1000 cost vs $1500x2=$3000 income ezpz

I find all this RCI stuff quote complicated. There is Wyndham-RCI, RCI weeks and RCI points. Where do I learn more about the latter 2?
Seems to me, mastering the RCI systems would be very beneficial long term...

Btw, is there an equivalent RCI tpu trade in for Wyndham? Or is only one way if you own Wyndham points?
There is no equivalent. What Wyndham and other points systems have done is set up a fairly one size fits all grid for exchanges based on size and season. RCI on the other hand use a wide range on their 1-60 tpu systems to describe different units. So going through the Wyndham portal a 1 br NYC, a 1 br Disney property, and a 1 BR Hilton Hawaii unit would have the same value in Wyndham points as a 1 br high season unrated Branson or Orlando unit. On the other hand going through RCI the 1br NYC might have a 58 tpu, the DVC might have a 44 and the Hilton Hawaii might be a 42 while the Branson and Orlando might be 5-11 tpu's.
