I am heading to Orlando very soon and I have one week at Sunterra's Cypress Point (CYN) and then another week at Marriott's Cypress Harbor (MCP). Any advise on how to request particular units and which units and sections to request. Both are 2 bedroom units.

Thanks in advance.

Lisa :)

At Cypress Pointe all units are assigned at check in. Being there early to request but willing to wait for a specific unit/building that might be available later is the key. Of course not every unit/building will have a unit on any given day so have a few ready to be accepted.

John,

Do you know which unit numbers and/or area are the best to request at Cypress Pointe when requesting a 3-bedroom unit? Would prefer not having to look out over the parking lot, and being relatively close to the pool would be a plus since my grandson will be 8 when we go.

Thanks,
Betty

Cypress Harbour is really beautiful no matter which area you get. The lake is picturesque, the pools are inviting. I have not ever requested a unit at Cypress Harbour and have always gotten something great, always on the lower level. It is the only resort that I don't worry about requesting a specific area.

I noticed that Cypress Harbour units are available with RCI for 38K points, any time of year. That is cheap for points. I guess RCI doesn't consider them GC, but they are better than GC, in my opinion, and definitely deserve the 5 star rating that II gives. What a beautiful place. They have been updating units this past year and have not gotten all of them done yet, but our unit in early May did not need updating; it was gorgeous with that old decor.

In order of requests the pool views are directly from building 4 and over the parking lot from building 6. (I was surprised how much I liked that building despite the parkinmg area between my unit and the pool). Next are buildings 1 & 2 which directly overlook the ponds & can see the Disney fireworks. Very nice. Then there is building 8 which borders on the forever wild area. The quietest building in CPR. We have stayed in 3, 5 and 7 but there is nothing special about those as far as view is concerned. Remember every unit is exactly alike so the only difference will be the potential view. Enjoy your stay.

Cindy: Do you know if Cypress Harbor has WIFI in their units? Our son’s family has a vacation scheduled there in a few weeks and he would like to bring his computer along with him if the resort has a WIFI Internet connection.
Tom

Cypress Harbour has free high speed internet in the rooms. It is via a cable, not wifi. Works great. :)

Cindi: Thank you very much for the information. I will pass it along to our son. I think he needs the computer to check in to his office every now and then.

Tom

Cypress Pointe also has high speed internet (the first in Orlando to offer it in the units back in 2003!). It has been upgraded to WiFi in all units so your laptop will work anywhere on the grounds of the resort including the pool and Clubhouse areas. There is a fee - $4.95/day OR $19.95/week. Cypress Pointe Grande Villas recently added high speed internet access as well but theirs is wired. Same prices.
