So I received a free timeshare here on tug (thank you!), and I've used the points to book at the Peacock Suites in Anaheim (shell resort). We arrive in few weeks. Is there anything I should know ahead of time? Like what to bring with me to confirm reservation, ect? any advice from experienced wyndham/shell users would be appreciated.

You need to print out the Wyndham/Shell confirmation.
A major credit card.
Your picture ID.

Be aware that they have a high parking fee - but there are no real close alternatives.

Ok thank you for reminding me to print out the confirmation. I've done that now. I was aware of the parking fees so thats ok. Thank you for your help!

If Wyndham has fully integrated into the resort you're staying at you should expect high pressure sales tactics. Sales weasels want your money and will lie to your face in order to get their hands into you pocket. Beware! If they are talking, then they are lying...

Yeah, thats what I'm not looking forward to. But I don't think they can beat the free timeshares on here, and I will try to avoid the sales talks.

No matter what they offer to get you into a sales presentation, just don't do it.

We broke down this summer at Canterbury, agreed to an owner's update, and had a terrible experience. I'm usually really good at saying no, but they just wore me down. We've done a number of "updates" and have come to the conclusion that it's just not worth the time or the negative feelings that result from same.

My new standard line is when they ask us if we have any plans for the week, I say "not an owners update". I look them directly in the eye when I say this, don't smile or laugh, and say this forcefully. Usually does the trick.
