I have a few mandatory resale weeks purchased prior to Abound cutoff, so I am now paying an Abound membership fee for them.

What happens if I buy another mandatory resale week now? I guess it will not be added to my existing Vistana account, but rather a new separate Vistana account will be created just for this new one week, and I will be charged an annual VSN fee of $170 for that week, correct?

So far, based on posted experience any new weeks will pay the $170 VSN fee. I think also that Vistana has stated that they no longer merge accounts, so it would seem that each mandatory week would carry a fee and the StarOption wouldn't be able to be combined for a single reservation. Some of this is still all conjecture though.

ugggh... the non-merging of accounts is a bummer. Will have to see how that plays out before the next purchase and/or if there will be an option to "requalify/merge" with a purchase or fee.

It could also be that they stated they couldn't merge accounts until after 1/1/23. I don't know if we have all the details yet to fully understand how post 8/9 resales will work.

If this is how they do business and I decide in the future to add one or two mandatory units to my portfolio (unlikely at this point), I will most likely opt out from Abound and keep everything under VSN. So far I find the availability in Abound to be underwhelming, the search capabilities poor, and the cost in points too high.

I have one week going through the process. Purchased at the end of August. I wonder once it is finally in my account if I will be denied.

Has your week transferred yet? My post 8/9/22 resale WKV finally transferred and it appears under my existing Vistana account, but it shows that it’s not VSN enrolled. WKV is a mandatory resort, so even though I can’t convert to Club Points, I should be able to use the SOs in the VSN. Has anyone fought this battle yet?

Every mandatory week showed VSN:NO in my account for a day or two after appearing there, then it changed to VSN:YES.

Thanks. I’ll give it a few days before I call and talk to them.

Yes, it finally was processed into my account. It does show mandatory but I do not have Abound ClubPoints for this year. Now trying to decide if I should just Opt out of Abound. Already own Marriott so it’s not really a benefit.

Would it have Abound points at all since you bought it after the cutoff?

No. But I do have a unit that does qualify for Abound.
Got it. Do your Vistana weeks prop up your Abound Owner Benefit Level? If you were to opt your Vistana VOIs out, it may push you down a level. Also, have you noticed where your new WKV VOI is counting toward the OBL even though you can't elect Club Points?

I just got off the phone with a Vistana CS Manager. She confirmed that my two resale WKORV CAN NOT be merged under one 'Member ID', requiring a different Dashboard log-in for each contract. However, she can link both Member Ids to the same 'Usage ID' so I can see the combined number of Star Options, and make reservations in the club using the combined total Star Options.

She said that she is repeating herself a couple of times a day with this same issue. She has brought it up with her higher ups and while she wanted to tell me they were working on it, it is more than likely not taking priority at this time.

I didn't ask about the VSN Fee, but I was billed for it on the first WKORV this year even though I own 8 other Pre-merger contracts.

I was also told that even developer purchases will require a different log-in for each contract purchased direct... which I find really difficult to believe.

Hopefully the issue is being worked on and it is just a waiting game like the initial merger was.

We own two WKV contracts and they are under same account (Titles have exact same names) - and all of our ownerships are listed under “What I Own “ on the Dashboard. I have to choose which one I want for reservations, or Abound conversion.

I am select since I only own 2wks that are mandatory.
