Hoping for some input or advice here. I have an existing Interval account from a 2BR at Marriott Aruba Surf Club that we bought directly from Marriott in 2016. The unit is also enrolled in Abound, it came that way when we bought it. So we have the unit available to deposit if we want to in Interval. Recently we bought 2 new properties (found both on this TUG site so thank you) and they both have closed and I have them in the Marriott Vacation Club site. I have some reservations I want to deposit in Interval. So...I have been trying to add these weeks for several days and it's not working. First I was told that I can't "combine" Abound enrolled weeks with non-enrolled weeks in the same Interval account. Tried to create a new Interval account for the new units and the web site said an account already exists with my details and it would not got through. Then I was told that yes I could combine all weeks....it's been confusing. Anyway, just got an email that Marriott denied my request to add the weeks. Anyone else have experience with something like this? Thank you in advance.

You need a separate II account for the new weeks.
Ok thank you. I just called them (II) and asked but they said they are not sure and told me to call Marriott. I will call back and see how to get the second account. It won't let me do it online even if I use a different email address.

You should be able to create a new account online at IntervalWorld.com. You will probably need to use a different email address and phone number from your existing account when you set it up.

I had an issue like this and I had to contact II to get them to add a new account number to my existing II login. Once they set that up I was able to add my resale to that account number. Once they did that I could login using my previous credentials and then select the account number I wanted to use at the moment (corporate or personal).

Thanks for the comments, it all sounds right but another hour plus on the phone today with II and they still can’t figure this out.

I have done something similar recently they 1000% can create a non-corporate account under the same existing log-in and without new email address. But this can’t be done online and you have to call interval to do it.

First you need to call to create the account by calling and they will put a period after your (last) name so that it can bypass the duplicate name issue.

Then you will have to wait for the resort to confirm the week.

After the interval account is fully activated (meaning the resort has confirmed your week) you need to call interval again to remove the period on the (last) name and merge the accounts into one log-in. Specifically the term they used is “merge contacts” you are NOT merging interval accounts. Merging personal and corporate interval accounts are not possible and this is NOT what are you trying to do.

If you do the above, you can now switch between your different interval accounts into your phone or online and you won’t have to worry about keeping track of multiple email and log in information.

Some front line agent won’t know what to do or insists that it’s not possible but make sure to escalate and ask to speak to supervisor and they will come back and say this is possible and there are very specific steps that they need to take.

Edited to add couple clarifying things after reviewing my notes

I'll second having two separate Interval accounts under one email/login, my corporate one and my resale week one. I also have a third one under a different login that I had to set up for my Vistana weeks - my wife wasn't on the deeds so I needed the separate account.

I also have two Interval accounts too with same log in. Our first one was Pre Abound which was inactive once we enrolled in Abound program and had the corporate account. I then renewed the Pre Abound when we purchased 2 resale units and I needed two separate accounts. It is very convenient to have both under same log in and email.

So the OP may be able to renew their original pre-Abound II account and add their new resale deeds to that one.

Yes. I believe she could do that if she had an original pre Abound account. I could always see that old account when I logged onto the interval website.

Yeah, they may not have that. I looked back at the OP and they bought direct in 2016, so they may not have a pre-abound account that would have only existed if you owned prior to 2010. It shouldn't be an issue to get a new account setup under the same web profile. I am sure Mark will be able to help out here.

We have several II accounts. It's ridiculous. We have one with just the two of us, one with the kids' names, one that includes our daughter-in-law as an owner, and one with our Marirott Abound/ Destination points. We also have one with Disney and another with our Staroptions. Yeah, that's ridiculous, but we only pay for 3, the others are just included with our ownerships (for a fee).

Be sure you deed all or your weeks the same. Don't put one person's name on one and two names on the other, or you will need two II accounts.

I just had to open a brand new account last year because our daughter-in-law was listed on just one of our Sheraton Broadway Resort weeks, and it didn't get rented last year, so I either needed to use it or lose it, so I opened an account for that week. I am considering just using that lockoff in II all of the time, since I paid for a membership. It's all good. I just wish I realized this would be a problem in 2008, when I bought that week.

Mark called me today and things seem to be moving forward. New account is set up in II…now back to Marriott for verification.
