When you say "just emailing Interval", what email address did you use? Or did you just reply to the confirmation email?
I selected contact customer support on the web page and filled in a web form so I did not use an address just the general customer support function on the website. I got a response in a few hours to my email account from customerservice@intervalintl.com I did find it a bit odd that I could add the reservation to my bonvoy account on the app on my phone but not using my computer

I also got a quick reply and the Marriott reservation number from the above TUG specific email. But couldn’t find the reservation online using it. Not sure if I need to wait a couple of days cause I just booked the getaway.

WHen did you make the booking? It usually takes a couple days but I can usually look it up the day after booking. I get an error message whenever trying to look up a reservation on the website. App is where it is at.

You can email the II TUG Members mailbox and ask them to send you the Marriott reservation number.

Great tip - I received a response in less than two hours and it included my Bonvoy confirmation number. However, the app is not finding the reservation with the Bonvoy number. I might need to wait a day or two - I just made the exchange early this morning.

Made a reservation earlier today. Konw where to add online at marriott.com but couldn't find the reservation. Where to add it in app?

PS: found it. Under trips, there is a tiny line: Missing an uupcoming stay? and click the tiny tiny icon. Thanks for your attention. Guess I need to wait for a couple of days. Great tips!

My future II confirmation/ reservation numbers are all on my Bonvoy account. I don't remember adding them. That is odd. Maybe I added them last year. Our Westin Princeville stay is listed for the two weeks, and I see Imperial Palms, but our son is using that week.

I have yet to book anything for our Orlando stay in October.

You won't be able to find a reservation that you just made today. You need to wait at least overnight.

More likely 2 days
That is the safest. But my experience is usually I can look it up the next morning. If you confirm something late in the evening it could take longer. I suspect II has a batch process overnight that sends the reservation details to Marriott to update their system.

Just report back that I was able to find and add the reservation in app after many failed attempts. What’s tricky is I actually booked 5 days short stay getaways but the reservation is actually for 7-day week. I wouldn’t have realized that I should set the check in days 2 days earlier if I didn’t read about others experience. Thank the forum.

Don’t know if I really have the room for 7 days even though I only paid for 5. Guess I will have to call and let them know I will check in 2 days later so they won’t just cancel it with no show. Alternatively I could check in earlier and choose not to stay there.

Yeah, I had that once on a 6 night ShortStay Getaway. The checkin on Marriott.com was actually the day prior to what the II confirmation showed. If I recall my experience and if this is still how it works, you will likely get seven Elite Night Credits for the stay, but don't try to checkin early. The resorts do receive something from Interval International that indicates you are only entitled to the number of nights you booked through the ShortStay. I really don't think II does anything with the extra nights because then two people would have the same confirmation number, but if you checkin early, they will check you out early. You may be able to get into your room early on your arrival day though as they may already have the room ready. It shouldn't be necessary to call the resort about arriving late ad they will have a room for you. They can't give it away or consider you a no show.

Great advice. Makes a lot of sense.

Bringing up this older thread to share some experience with adding Bonvoy number to II exchanges. Recently we made a bunch of II exchanges. In the past, if we made the exchange under my wife's II web profile she would be on the reservation in a way that we could look up the reservation on Marriott.com or the app using her name and confirmation number. If we made the booking under my II login, then we could look it up under mine. In some way II would send the guest name to Marriott based on who made the reservation. I will call this the primary guest.

With five recent trades we notice no real rhyme or reason as to who the primary guest is. All exchanges were made, or OGS placed using my wife's II login. Four of the five can only be pulled up on Marriott.com using my name as the guest or through the mobile app when logged in as me. The other one can be pulled up using her name as the guest.

This is really an issue only because we play a delicate balancing act with our Bonvoy accounts to allocate Elite Night Credits (ENC) in a way to get us both to 75 nights for Titanium to earn the Free Night Award (FNA). In the past I've allocated II guest certificates (five free with II Platinum) to change the primary guest to be able to add the reservation to the appropriate Bonvoy account. We also allocate our Vistana StarOption reservations accordingly to ensure they post to the correct Bonvoy account to fulfill our goal.

I have exchanged into 2 Marriott resorts for late February. I am not a Marriott owner, but do have a Bonvoy account. Can I add those weeks to my Bonvoy account to earn points? If so, there is a confirmation number on my II transaction sheet. Is that the number to use or do I need to get a Marriott reservation number and, if so, can I request that reservation number via the II TUG member email address?

This is my first time doing this, so I want to get it right.
Thanks!

I noticed this recently as well. Kim doesn't have an II sign on and she's listed second on the confirmations we get from II. On a couple of recent exchanges I was able to look one up under her name only and one under my. name only. We try to do as much under hers as possible since I'm Lifetime Titanium and her lifetime status is Gold but close to Platinum. The one I could only look up under my name I could do so in her Bonvoy account and was able to change it to her name online.

You don't get points, other than any check-in Bonus you might be eligible for, you do get elite night credits.

You can wait until check-in and give them your Bonvoy number, or you can link it in advance, possibly via your online account by going to your trips and clicking on missing reservations. It won't match if the name on the Bonvoy account doesn't match the II reservation, or sometime because its glitchy. You can call the resort to get them to add it in advance also.
Your confirmation email may have the Bonvoy number if you scroll down to the Unit details, just above the Important information section. If you don't have it there you can call II to get it or email their customer services.
Getting the ENCs can be troublesome, so ensure that you have a folio with your Bonvoy number on it at check-out, if not you'll be fighting uphill with Bonvoy to get them credited.

A word of warning based on a bad experience.

I am not a Abound owner and did add my bonvoy number on marriott.com for a previous II getaway at an Abound property. I did not verify my bonvoy number was on my reservation when I checked in, and I subsequently checked out without it being tied to the reservation (not sure how it was not there automatically, but i digress).

I opened a missed stay with bonvoy for the incidental charges, and was told I was not eligible unless i was an Abound member . When I pressed them, the rep threatened to audit my account and remove points for any credits i had ever gotten thru Interval. Their rational was that they had proof that my reservation was not thru Marriott.com and that i should never get any credits for anything since i was not an owner (or had booked thru marriott.com). I let it drop as we did not spend much while onsite.

In this case, me tying my bonvoy number to the Interval getaway backfired on me. If i had been an Abound member, they would have fixed it - but since i was not they denied me because the reservation was not made thru marriott.com.

I have always gotten credits for Interval stays when I make sure on checkin that they have/add my bonvoy number. Those credits include incidentals and usually a check in bonus. So i plan to continue adding my bonvoy number while onsite instead of adding it on marriott.com ahead of time.

I find it easiest to use the mobile app to add it to your trips. Login to the app that the reservation is associated with. The Marriott confirmation number is located about halfway down the email confirmation under the Unit Details. Under Trips in the App, enter the confirmation number and checkin date. If it gives you an error message, then you may need to try the name of another owner that is associated with your II membership. If you pull it up under the name that you are logged into the app with, tap Add to Trips.
