I met with a Wyndham rep while in Branson last month. I won't go into details, but when he got down to facts, it was going to cost $21,000 and very much increase my maintenance fees. He just didn't understand why I said NO! But during the meeting I commented that my daughter wants my points when I no longer need or want them. The rep said that all I had to do was call Owner Services and ask that her name be added to my account so that she would be able to make her own reservations, and no guest certificates needed. This just sounds too easy and no expense attached. Could someone tell me if this name addition info is correct? We all know what happens when their lips are moving!

I know Wyndham and WorldMark do things very similarly, since they're owned by the same company. WorldMark told me if I wanted to add a second name to my account it was a simple thing to do, no problem, as long as I wanted to pay a $299 fee. I just had to send in a form along with the money, and it'd be handled, easy breezy. I'd expect Wyndham would do something similar for you. Why not call them and ask?

Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in here - because it definitely is good advice to reach out to them first hand.

But to all those Wyndham transfer experts - does the additional person need to be on one or more the "underlying" contracts/deeds?

I know Club Wyndham Access is structured like Worldmark (that you dont have a deed) - just wonder if that makes it more complicated if the property is deeded.

I heard somewhere adding a spouse is free. I don't know about children. As long as she is of age I would think it would be free too, if In fact it is true.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I’ll call WYNDHAM tomorrow just to see if it would be a “no cost” change and report back here.

As long as all contracts have one common name they can be in one account.
You & your spouse own one contract
You & your son own one contract
You & your daughter in-law own one contract
All contracts can be in one account as you are the common owner.
It doesn’t matter if it’s deeded,CWA or converted weeks contracts as long as there is one common owner.

I was recently married, and was told by title services, that it will cost $299 to add my spouse. I was under the impression it was free through Ovations, but I guess not. My mother recently passed away, and I'm dealing with getting her name off the deed, you would think it would be easy to add my wife. Nothing is easy with Wyndham.

Ovations program allows you for free to deed it over to an eligible family member but as long as the original member stays on the deed/account you have to pay. Ovations programs are exit programs not changes in the middle of your ownership program.

I'm not the original owner, my mother was. I was put on the deed 5 years ago (at a cost of $299)

But ovations is for removing the current owner and placing it in the name of an eligible family member as an exit program for the current member(s). It isn't for adding new members for free unless as an exit program for the current member(s).

I am WMTC Member not Wyndham. With WMTC there are 2 different things you can do:
1. Grant a person access to "X" number of Points per year. This is free. They are not an Owner. GC is needed for each Reservation that person makes.
2. Make a person an Owner of the Account. Depending on the family relationship this could be free. No GC needed. They can soon as many of the Points they want.

As I said in my previous comment in this thread, Worldmark told me to add my spouse's name to my account required a $299 fee. If that s what you mean in your second comment, how do I do that?

Go back to Owner Care. Ask to speak to a supervisor. Or call the transfer department at wyndham.

OP here - just talked with Owner Services and she said that all of my deeds would have to be changed and it would cost $299. Or she said the Branson rep may have been thinking of Tribute in which I could transfer my points to a family member at no cost. I’m not ready for either option, but glad I asked TUG and Wyndham.

I don't that is true, lol.

Your wife does not have to be on every deed. All our contracts are deeded, I can't speak to CWA (but braindead did, I'm sure they are correct). I can tell you for sure, if it's Club Wyndham, your wife (or anyone for that matter) only needs to be on one deed. If on one deed in the account, they are listed as an owner and can book, be added as the person staying (guest if you will), talk to a vc or owner care about the account, etc . Unless you specifically want your wife on all deeds for ownership purposes, I wouldn't do it. I would add her to one deed so she can be listed on the account. But it sounds like that will cost you $299. You could add a small resale contract, if the seller is paying closing costs, it might be cheaper (but then you have more points and the maintenance might be high).

bestpal38, sorry for your loss. I didn't think there was a fee for removing a deceased person, but have not done so.

Transferring to a relative via Ovations is supposed to be free, but I was too nervous to do so. Pretty sure existing reservations are cancelled and I can't see us being in a position to indefinitely put the account on hold/not use it, while Wyndham runs through a somewhat mystic process.

As with all things Wyndham, you can ask, get an answer that may be true. But you never really know until you do it. Sometimes it goes as expected, often it doesn't.

When you want off of your account and your daughter is going to take over your entire account she will have to be on every contract.

But for now to have access to your entire account she only needs to be added to one contract

Wyndham only looks at one common name on all contracts. It doesn’t matter if the contracts are deeded,CWA, Select,Outrigger, Converted Weeks or Presidential Reserve you only need to be added to anyone contract to be on the account. Ounce the new owner is added they have access to the entire account meaning all points & access to all privileges of the account such as VIP you even get the PR privileges as a non PR owner personally
