I'm thinking of using my AC in Florida with my parents and 2 kids age 8 and 10 (total 5 of us). Right now with the dates I'm seeing I can only stay 4 nights. If I were to book a 1-bedroom that says room capacity is 4, would they really check if there were 5 of us?

If I go ahead with a 2-bedroom but I and kids only stay 4 nights;
Can my parents stay in the unit the rest of the week?
Can they have friends come up for the rest of the week?

If I can't use the AC, can I "give it" to someone like my parents? It expires the end of June. I hate to lose it but it just hasn't worked out for us with other stuff going on.

Thank you!

Probably not, but it has been known to happen. Why take the risk and be cramped for space?

Yes and yes. Once you check in, you can have anyone stay there that you invite. Keep in mind that someone's credit card (probably yours) will be imprinted at check-in and will incur responsibility for all charges (if any), unless you make other arrangements - such as paying for your charges when you leave and having someone else give another credit card imprint to the front desk.

Yes. Use the AC to make a reservation for them at the place and for the week of their choice and pay II for a Guest Certificate ($39) when you make the reservation. You can do it all online.

I have never had Marriott come to check if we were over the limit in our room. There are times when we have stayed at Newport Coast Villas (close to our home) and we always call some friends to come stay the night. We are close or over the maximum and no one bothered us. That said, I don't think people should take advantage of the limit since it is for the convenience of your family and of others. BUT, having one more in the room, especially a child, should not worry you in the least.

Your parents can stay the rest of the week and their friends can come and stay with them. We have done something similar, but with my relatives family. We stayed the first 4 nights and they stayed the rest. We just put them on the reservation with us so they could check out or charge something to the room. We didn't get a guest certificate for them since we were staying in the room for the beginning of the week.
