AA FF Question

I was searching availability for frequent flyer miles tickets on American Airlines and could not tell how to search for an itinerary that flew into one city and out of another (e.g., fly from home to Los Angeles and then from San Francisco back home). I can price the itinerary if I pay cash. For miles usage, I could only search if I fly to and return from the same location.

Can someone let me know how to do the search on-line or do I need to speak with a representative?

Thanks.

Sam

You need to call AA to do that. You can, however, see what flights are available by looking at round trips to/from each city. That way you can tell the rep which flights you want.

Yes, only way to do that is over the phone with an agent. Plus you pay $20 for them to do it for you. $5 fee if you book it yourself on the website for a ticket into/out of the same airport.

Into Maui / Out of Oahu

I tried to do the same thing online.
Ended up calling and was able to get exactly
what I wanted, so saved us an interisland flight.

How did you make arrangements to get from Oahu to Maui. I ask because for years I have used AA FF to fly into HNL and out of KOA. I would book my interisland flight completely separately through Aloha.

I just discovered this year that even though I use AA FF for the main part of my trip I can additionally pay for the inter-island but it can still be part of my whole ticket. Plus the flight was only $50. Since I had to pay American for the FF reservation anyway I saved a little bit of money.

Thanks for your help everyone. I checked availability on-line by doing two searches and then called AA to book the tickets. It cost $20 per ticket but it was worth it.
