It has long been discussed that a possible area of expansion for MVCI has been urban locations. This was also made as a point during the MVW spin-off back in November of 2011.

The question is though, if these types of new destinations are added, where would you like to them added? What new urban locations?

If they add this to the DC program, how many enrolled owners would be interested?

Are these links just wishful thinking on your part or is this a reality?

I have not heard anything official from Marriott but then again that was not my question either.

I'm not interested in any new locations for a Bulgari. From what I've read they're very nice but in any major metro area in the US they would undoubtedly be a CAT 8 property. What NYC needs is not another CAT 8 Marriott affiliate but a few CAT 5's.

Agreed. I can recall the days of $159/night at some decent properties in NY. Those days are gone. NY over the last 5 years has seen an explosion of demand from all over the world and as such rates have increased accordingly.

I don't see the trend in the opposite direction anytime soon either. I go there on business about once a month and am amazed at the rates being charged. No shortage of paying customers either. They are just not Americans anymore but many affluent Asian and European customers who can pay!

Thats my biggest issue with going on vacation to NY, cramming 5 into a room designed for 4 in apprximately 400 Sq. Ft.

I guess if we see something come to NY I wouldn't expect it to be inexpensive.
