A couple of months ago driving back from a short stay in a resort community, we stayed overnight at an inner city hotel on our way home. I brought back a screw cap bottle of red we had just opened the night before and poured a couple of drinks using the wine glasses from the cabinet in our hotel room. The taste was clearly off, and I presumed it was soap film from the last time the glasses were cleaned, because there was nothing wrong with the wine the night before. But reading this....I now realize....I had a shot of pledge!

Frankly, a shot of pledge is about the best you can hope for if you're using glassware provided in a hotel room. You may want to google the uses for the mini coffee pots provided in some rooms.

There was a thread on TUG about this a few years back - probably more than a few. Since then, we usually bring our own or if we get stuck, use an antibacterial wipe and soap and water on anything we drink out of.

Lemon Fresh Pledge.

A trombone-playing musical colleague (very fine musician, excellent player, well regarded by all the other trombone players) lubricated his trombone inner slide tubes with a couple of quick spritzes of Lemon Fresh Pledge out of an aerosol spray can.

Worked great, he said.
