Finally was able to get into RCI this morning. Checked through my confirmed exchanges. I haven't phoned in yet, but instead of going to Manhatten Club in November, that has disappeared and apparently I'm now going to somewhere called The Kimball in the Canary Islands. Am I surprised? No, that's why I went through and checked everything.

CHECK YOUR EXCHANGES!!

After reading the op post I checked RCI on line.

I am now going to Lake George NY and not VA Beach:wall: :bawl:

I immediately called RCI and she still sees my VA Beach confirmation. She told me what they see and what we see on line are different. They have had numerous calls about this situation and emails have been sent out to the VG's, so they are aware of the error and we are to disreguard what shows on the website for a few days until they get it fixed.

I even got an English speaking person today. I should say an American not just English speaking. First time in months

Yes, I read the answer on Timeshare Forums. The resort ID is correct, date, and all other details - just the name is wrong, which of course threw me immediately.

Where on earth do RCI get their technical people? I run a small business and would NEVER try to do business this way.

Revised bad code is still bad code

AOL must be laying off more programmers than ever if RCI is able to find this many incompetents so easily. How can an organization as large as RCI continue to provide such miserable web functions for so long? Add in the weekly "maintenance" work that often breaks even those few areas that actually work and you have a prime example of dysfunctional host to web spaghetti code that will never be right until it's rewritten top to bottom. Sort of like Windows - adding millions more lines of code and patches just makes it worse. And it's spread to Wyndham's site as well so you can't avoid it. What a mess.

I am going to a place called Beach Club I instead of the Manhattan Club on my confirmation. RCI says they still see the original confirmation on my account. I guess we'll have to wait a while until they get the problem fixed.

I just logged into RCI for the first time. I checked my account and got something different. My three confirmations I have are all correct but when I clicked Exchanges they list my resort as Club Privado Villa Piren instead of Silverleaf. The rest of the info (dates and units) are correct. My four one-plus-ones are still there.

What a mess they got themselves into!! :crash:

Wow, I just went back into RCI and it's corrected now to Silverleaf.
Anyone else get theirs corrected?

I just noticed also that the resort ID, dates, unit size, etc were correct, just the wrong name of the resort.
It's fixed now at least the correct resort is right.

Of cousrse, after speaking with a VG and her being aware of the problem asked me to renew my membership and bank my 2008 weeks.

I just now before posting went back to the RCI website to make sure my deposits and some are searching and now I see this!!!!!!! HOW PATHETIC!!!

There is a problem with this website's security certificate.

"Fixed"

No more wrong information. In fact, no info at all. My Vacation History and Plans are both blank. That solved that problem!

I just got in and checked all my info and 2 exchanges are correct. Its my trade power thats messed up. I have 3 floating weeks banked from home resort. Exact same size unit, exact same dates, exact same resort. In doing just a generic search for Hawaii, one pulls 5 resorts for Hawaii in Sept, 2008 the other two pull none, zippo, nada. This is really bizarre even by RCI's standards.

And now can we have your 2008 deposits?

We plan to have all these problems looked at by 2010 or later. A fix will take time but we will look at them. Can we have your 2008 deposits now? Remember, the earlier you deposit the more chances there are that we can screw things up! Don't wait! Get your full share of mistakes before anyone else can.

Maybe they should open-source the code and compensate people who submit useful hacks.

Thanks for the alert. I checked my confirmed exchanges and the destinations seemed to be okay. What I did notice, however, was a mismatch between the Resort ID and name of my deposited weeks. Here is what I saw for my Kona Coast II week-resort ID #4861:

Deposit Details
Hacienda del Mar Resort
Resort ID 4861

Something's not right!!

I wonder if this is going to be a problem for peopel who reserve weeks while this is going on.

Are the resort ID#'s matching up when trying to find an exchange? It would suck to confirm an exchange to the wrong resort ID#.

Oh, oh. The word "spacebank" was mentioned in your conversation?! We all know what that means. spacebank. It doesn't matter if you said no. Always get off the phone before the VG have the chance to ask you that question.
Maybe they should open-source the code and compensate people who submit useful hacks.
Great idea!

Anyone else seeing this today?

When I searched online this morning it showed no availability, so as a test, I widened my search to all of the state of Florida for a 10 week period in the Summer of 2008. Still "nothing available". Now that sounds fishy. Anyone else seeing this?

I also was not pulling resorts this morning that I had pulled just yesterday (and many days prior over and over). It seemed to me that the searches weren't really working.

I did try a couple of very broad searches, such as 10 weeks this summer in Florida and pull some things, so it wasn't totally broken, but I definitely noticed a difference.

Swimca, I also just checked availability in all of Florida in 2008 from June-Sept (which includes Hurricane season) and found nothing. Something strange is going on here!

I just tried for all of Florida for June thru Sept., 2008 to see what I pulled if anything. First try, I got a mainframe failed error message..I tried again got a message that said my dates were wrong, they were not, 3rd try I pulled 141 resorts for all of Florida. :wall:
