Nice. How did you manage 10 referrals ? I talk to plenty of people about tug who say they will or have joined but only have 3 referrals. My wife even joined to help me out. :LOL:

well earned IMO...one doesnt always have to get 10 referrals....contributing to the site in a volunteer capacity for enough time also warrants a lifetime membership!

most (if not all) moderators are lifetime members at this point! or should be unless I dropped the ball somewhere.

Do resort reviews count as volunteer capacity ? If so, how many ?

no, but we offer membership extensions for reviews submitted thus making your membership free to renew every year if you submit enough!
 
For the 15+ years I’ve been on TUG, I think I only paid for membership twice. Once when signing up and one other time. All other membership extensions have been through doing reviews (2 or 6 months), extension from contributing in another form like updating an article or extension from referrals. I think you get a six month extention for a referral. After 10, then it is lifetime. Which is how I ultimately got TUG Lifetime Member. I’ve referred a few people to TUG, but I have no idea how I got some of the early referrals. I think some people just randomly put in my TUG name when they joined. Then most of the later referrals came from people watching my YouTube videos.

How many lifetime members are there?
 
that is a fantastic question, I had to do some digging to figure it out!

there have been exactly 170 lifetime memberships ever given out on TUG in its history....though id have to go thru them 1 by 1 to see how many are still active or similar! Most are usernames just about everyone would recognize!

a brief glance showed a good number of them not logging in in quite some time!
 
I see that @rickandcindy23 is a new addition to the TUG Lifetime member list! Congratulations!

Is there a way to add a tile to the Notable Members page of the forums that shows all the Lifetime Members? Or perhaps some other way to see a list of who they are?
 
hmm, not sure!

im pretty sure you get like a gazillion points for being a lifetime member so they should all be at the top of the awards lists!

I think I received the status because I have been talking to timeshare owners on vacations about TUG. Some must have joined.

It's nice when people remember to use my TUG name.

I try to help people do what I do.

Congrats to all the Lifers. Seems like I've only paid for membership a couple of times, but apparently one doesn't get a lot of nominations for advising owners who feel trapped in their TSs to just default.
Oh well.

Looking through that list I see many well deserving members, congrats to all!

It is sad also that I see a few members that I recognize that have passed. I suspect that many family members of TUG members who have passed have no idea that their loved one’s kindness and sincere help to strangers lives on through TUG.
 
yep, some very very old names in there who are no longer with us :(
 
Keep referring new members to TUG. There is a number of referrals required to get the TUG Lifetime Membership, but I don't know what that number is.
