A few Vegas questions

This will be our first timeshare Vegas vacation - always hotelled it on the Strip before. We'll also have a brood of young adults with us, so groceries in the unit will be in order (for them to cook - I'm eating out!!).

Anybody know where the nearest Super Walmart to the Fairfield Grand Desert would be? Also, are the liquor laws in Nevada similar to California, where I can buy all kinds of liquor in a grocery store, or do I have to find a separate liquor store? If so, any suggestions?

Thanks muchly. I could Google and Mapqest, etc., but sometimes the closest in distance isn't the best option.

I'm guessing by "Super Walmart" you mean a Walmart with a Grocery Store. The easiest Walmart Supercenter to get to would be the one on Rainbow and Twain. Its around 5 miles away. You'll go West on Flamingo (across the Strip) to Rainbow, turn Right, and then it will be maybe a mile up from there.

They sell some alcohol there. Most grocery stores do. If you are looking for value priced liquor you'll need to go to Lee's Liquor, which is out near the Grandview Las Vegas on South Las Vegas Blvd.

Yes, that is very helpful. As we will have two or three in our group who have turned 21 this year -- well, you get the picture.

If you are looking for value priced liquor you'll need to go to Lee's Liquor, which is out near the Grandview Las Vegas on South Las Vegas Blvd.

If you are going to go to Lee's Liquor (9110 Las Vegas Blvd S) there's a nice WalMart grocery store (it's just the grocery market not the big Walmart with everything else) near there at 490 E. Silverado Ranch. There's a light at the intersection of S. Las Vegas Blvd. & Silverado Ranch and the store is east of S. LV Blvd. just a few blocks. My daughter lives near there and she took me to that store when we were staying at the Grandview. It seems like they had a liquor section in the store, too.

I'd forgotten about the Walmart Neighborhood Market. Actually, I wasn't sure that Bev only wanted a supermarket, but if she did, this is a good place. Its on the corner of Bermuda and Silverado. You'd go South on Las Vegas Bl. from the Strip, and turn left on Silverado (where South Point Casino is). Its just a bit up the road.

The Walmart Neighborhood Market is a new thing for Walmart. It has a supermarket, health and beauty aids, pharmacy, and photo. Also some liquor. Prices are much better than most supermarkets, but a couple cents higher per item than the Walmart SuperCenter. Its a much quicker in and out, though, so I generally go there if all I want is food.
