Hi Everyone,

Firstly, I would like to thank this site and each and everyone of you who have helped me in saving 18k.

Recently, I stayed at orange Lake Resort and got sucked into buying the timeshare with points based system. I was quite uncomfortable and started doing my due diligence and landed upon this site.

After reading a few posts, I immediately terminated my contract and decided to buy something in the resale market.

Now that I have joined this group, I need your help in deciding which timeshare we should be buying.

I am leaning more towards HGVC or HIVC only for their point system as I donot want to lock myself to a fixed unit and place every year. We like the flexibility to travel.

We are a family of 5 and take vacations every year. We like to travel the world hence looking for a timeshare as hotels can get pricey.

Can you please advice on which of the 2 are better for the value as both are partners with RCI.

You may also wish to review two other excellent points programs: WorldMark (Western US focused) or Wyndham (Eastern US focused).
 
Hi from Calgary.The Wyndham system allows bookings at some worldmarks. You may also acquire an RCI a/c(frequently comes with a wyndham purchase-learn to use) which allows booking world wide.(We have booked in Australia and Spain.) For efficient use of the system you need to really learn how it works On line and by phone .Tug is a great learning helper. Do not buy developer points .Checkout Sumdayvacations.com. Key concepts -points are points , explore the concept of credit pooling points,learn to book online and search online. Frequently patience is required.
