8 of The Worst Thing You Can Inherit (or Leave to Loved Ones).

Something a bit uncomfortable to talk about but falls into one of the worse things you can leave for others after you leave life is the funeral plans. Someone told me this after their mom passed away while I was a Trustee. I made sure they both had funerals with the works paid in full.

I asked Mom if she’d taken care of her cremation arrangements, and I was surprised she hadn’t and she was surprised she hadn’t thought of it. All done. In the last two weeks she’s had a bathroom wall repaired from water damage and then painted, the exterior of the house painted actually changing the color of both the trim and stucco for the first time in decades, and the carpet cleaned. While I expect the carpet will need to be cleaned again several times, she’s readying the house for sale upon her demise. She’s 91.
