77K Annual vs. 154K Biennial???

Is there any real difference between these two, if I were only going to travel every other year anyway?

Please advise, they appear to function the same way, if I place the 77K points in a credit pool every other year -- is that correct?

You have one free transaction per year in both cases. But it is hard to use that free transaction when you have no point EOY.

They are function very similar if you use credit pool. However, based on the directory, it will cost you $30.

With the point size like this, 154k will usually allow you to ARP a prime time 1 BD, 77 will not.

IMHO, I like 154k EOY than 77k EY.

Generally, the more points you can get in 1 year, the better you can arrange your trip.

For example if the EOY is odd year, and you plan to take a prime time summer vacation (July 4th say), at the time you make ARP (June 4th at even year), if you also can take vacation within 3 month at some over build area (Sep 4th), you can take 1 odd year vacation, one even year without get hit by transaction fee. And you can still rent / borrow points at odd year for another vacation without get hit by transaction fee.

If you deposit to RCI only, you usually deposit in 28k or 70k, so 77k is odd, 154k is not.

Jya-Ning makes a good point about ARP, if that will matter to you, plus the $30 fee to use the credit pool.

If you're looking at two such contracts, check the MFs. I don't know this for sure, but just from looking at resale ads I think EOY contracts might have a higher MF per 1000 points compared to the same number of annual points.

In Wyndham, you can use your points to book anywhere in the system for travel within the next 10 months. At your home resort (where you are deeded), you can book 13 months in advance - that's ARP.

For many people it's not a big deal, unless you want very high demand times (Daytona for race week is an often used example).
