Couple of questions on last minute star options reservations.

1. If you use banked (non restricted) star options to make a reservation within 60 days, will vistana give you 24 hour grace period to cancel the reservation without then restricting the star options? Or is a once it’s booked all 60 day cancellation rules including fees apply?

2. If you make consecutive reservations in the same room type, will they combine the reservation or will I get hit with multiple cancellation fees (under 60 days) if I need to cancel?

1. You have 24 hours to cancel the reservation without penalties or restrictions on your Staroptions

2. Each reservation would be subject to a fee unless you can talk yourself out of one of them on the phone. The combing of reservation is a courtesy they will hopefully honor for staying in the same room instead of forcing a move to another room

Good luck

Thanks! I was more concerned with the answer to number one, I can deal with fees. I know I’ll be in the same room at the resort.

I believe the 24 hour cancellation is actually midnight ET the following day, so you actually get a little longer than 24 hours depending on when you make the reservation. I would recommend verifying before counting on this, but I was told this by a rep and it seemed to work for me.

This from the Vistana-Site.
Does "before the end of hours of operation" mean 5:00pm EST?

It certainly does right now if you call in to cancel, which is what you used to have to do, or email. Since the web operates 24x7, it ends operations at for the day at midnight. Again, I wouldn’t count on this, but it might help.

Do online cancellations inside 24 hours have no fee or do you have to call in to not get charged the fee. Wasn't sure how "smart" their web system is.

If wIthin 24 hours, then NO Fee for online cancellations.

No fee online if within the free period. If there will be a fee it will ask for your credit card to cancel. And then you can cancel your cancellation before paying.
