An undefeated season -- yeah, that's hard to beat
But running the mile in less than 4 minutes ...

There are actually some that aren't listed (more Cy Young, etc).....

But, of these there really are TWO (or a few more)....that really are NOT going to happen.

Cy Young 511 wins
Wilt Chamberlain 48.5 minutes per game

(Ripken, Nolan Ryan in my opinion...would be next)

I knew Gretzky's assists must be on there. 2nd Place 63 % of Gretzky's numbers.

Sidney Crosby the only active player in the top 20 and is only 51% of Gretzky's numbers.

Johnny Vandermeer: two consecutive no hitters. You have to throw three to break it. Pitchers don't complete three games in a row let alone as no hitters.

I think Scottie Sheffler could break Niklaus' record if he stays healthy.

Yeah, they said the same thing about Tiger Woods...
Jack Nicklaus - Won 18 majors.
Tiger Woods - 15 majors.
Scottie Scheffler - 2 majors.

Nicklaus holds the record for majors, but Tiger Woods is the greatest golfer to have ever lived.

so far. But the "greatest" aka GOAT is a record that can be broken

There are always different circumstances involved that must be taken into account.........
Imho, the measure of a man (or woman) athletically is what that individual did in their prime
in the allotted time with which they were blessed.
No one will surpass Tiger with that in mind, as his time was cut short.
Nicklaus won a lot (I watched and witnessed his prowess in real time and space), but Tiger obliterated his foes as none other could.

(IMHO) Golf will probably be around for another 10 or 20 thousand years (or so) I'm guessing someone will step up and do what Tiger did in "their allotted time"
Even if golf is played on the moon and duffers routinely hit a golf ball several kilometers :D
