Chromecast? I thought Google discontinued those things. Perhaps they are moving to fixed boxes on the televisions that allow you to log in to select streaming services?

*Per their presentation, owners own 98% of all WM credits; Developer, Wyndham, only owns 2% of all WM credits..

It's happening but slowly. I think Wyndham started doing Chromecast at Wyndham resorts and are doing the same for Worldmark.

But Chromecast? Really. Those are like 15 year old technology and rather clunky when trying to be shared between users in a timeshare or hotel. Also the fact that you need some other device to cast to the television through the Chromecast. Google has also discontinued the product.

I'm not sure I've ever used Chromecast. I usually hook up a fire stick everywhere we go.

Hyatt also 'features' this, fwiw...
At least a start, for being able to see your own smartphone streamed content (netflix, disney or whatever one wants) to their TV; moving from DVD players et al...

I think with our last 5 Worldmark resort stays I saw dvd's in the reception area and DVD players in the room. We don't use dvd's at home. I was at a Marriott hotel last week and the TV had streaming services controlled with the remote. I did log on to YouTube and I did log out even though when you check out all devices are logged out. I think I like using the remote better than my phone.

Wyndham has been removing DVD Players over the course of this calendar year at Wyndham resorts, but I have not experienced a resort which had a Chromecast yet.

They also seem to be switching from Samsung to LG TV's and the TV's are using third party remote controls which don't allow you to change inputs. In other words, you cannot use the HDMI inputs.

This particularly sucks. Usually you can call the front desk and they will bring you a "real" remote which allows you to do this, but I have also been bringing a universal remote with me to get around this.

I simply connect my laptop to an HDMI port on the TV.

You won't be able to do that for much longer, as they cycle through the TV refresh cycle. They are replacing TV's with LG TV's and putting them in "Hospitality Mode" and going so far as to replace the remote controls with third party generic remote controls with no setup or input buttons.

So good luck with that

This may still work, we travel with our Roku stick & remote. They take up little room. It plugs into the port and my husband calls Tech support and they do what needs to be done to get in. It’s not time consuming in the year + we’ve been doing that.

Chromecast? What a joke— I was very confused when I saw that at Windsor last week. Do these guys purposely try to use technology from 10-15 years ago? Not sure too many people will bother with that feature.

That is too bad ... for you.

I have been using HDMI ports on LG TVs in WorldMark units for more than a year. By sheer coincidence, there is a cable plugged into the HDMI3 port on a WorldMark LG TV in my unit all this week. The HDMI inputs are accessed using the "FUNCTION" button on the remote in the room.

Things may change in a year or two or more. I am sure it will be easy enough to adapt.

I am sure Club Wyndham will catch up "someday."

The Chromecast feed is through HDMI1, and is accessed through Channel 4 on the LG TV at 64 WorldMark resorts, with more to come.

This is the module that is plugged into HDMI1. As long as there is Chromecast available, there will be at least one HDMI port available for me to access and sub my laptop HDMI connection during my stays.:LOL::LOL:

Your 2026 WorldMark budget updates.

During its October 2025 meeting, the WorldMark Board of Directors voted to approve the 2026 WorldMark, The Club annual budget. The new 2026 housekeeping rates will be:

All Studios $115
All 1 Bedrooms $165
All 2 Bedrooms $195
All 3 Bedrooms $200
All 4 Bedrooms $250
Club Pass $185

Hope the new BOD member Michael, whom lots of folks voted for, to get elected (& got Cecilia out), will actually regularly share updates (& share WM Owners concerns to WM leadership) & help bring some positive changes at WM (like @cd5 does at Embarc)...
TY!

I never vote. I probably should regarding Worldmark.

Hopefully! It seems like there's some low-hanging fruit. EG, wifi revenue to the club was down when they raised the prices - it's now so expensive that people have stopped buying it. Seems like it'd be a no-brainer to reduce the prices back down. Presumably lower prices would increase customer satisfaction, and more revenue is obviously better.

Of course - that price increase might be sales-driven. VIP gets "free" wifi, so they can sell it as a more valuable perk if the retail price is higher (even if that means few actually buy it...)

*Always vote..
Taxation w/o representation = not nice...
(although realize we did not have any choices until this year when WM Owners folks pushed for someone to run)...
Hopefully positive changes or at least some visibility like cd5 brings to Embarc owners (realizing only one person, can only do so much in a board controlled by the Mgmt sharks)...
TY!
