Such terrible service, so slow. What could be the reason for this.

My belief, based only on my observations of people's reports here (and my much faster experiences when transferring ownerships of developer-purchased units in family transfers which retain that status) is that MVC takes their sweet time on resale transfers, simply because they can, and they have no real interest in making the resale process easier or better. Quite the opposite, in fact. I am not saying they necessarily intentionally slow things down, but they probably prioritize resale transfers last, and they don't sufficiently staff the transfer department to even get caught up on those. After all, there's really no benefit to them to process those transfers faster – and in fact by doing it slowly, they end up with additional free inventory which they can monetize in some cases.

I don't think MVC is "evil" – but they do act in their own self-interest, and they don't owe any duty of expedience to resale transferees.

They were pretty quick last one I did, email the transfer dept. With a copy of the recorded deed. It was resale.

My SDO this year took 4 months. Then I needed to clean up the trust information they entered in the system so about 5 months all in. Working fine now.

@daviator , are you saying that if the resale process takes 4 months to process that MVC will use my week (inventory) ?

The great thing about SDO is there is no penalty for a late deposit. If your are depositing your 2024 week to II, as long as that happens before Dec 31, you are golden.

I am unbelievably disappointed that it's taking so long for transfers to occur.

@rickandcindy23 , I'm so bummed, I know these things take a while to transfer over but the person that I got this SDO from was able to get the deed recorded in Maricopa County in early July and I was thinking by October I would have it in my name and could reserve a week for 2025

Can the person reserve it for you? We know it is not their fault but if they are able to help, that would be great!

You will get whatever is left/available at the point the transfer is complete. You will be able to make a 2925 reservation, but availability may be reduced for earlier dates in 2025 because other owners have been able to book them since 12 months prior. But you should be able to find what you want with some perseverance.

@rickandcindy23 , I just had to share with you that I called guest relations today and they transferred me to the department that handles the processing of resales and the lovely gal that I spoke to said ....

SDO: Great News, yes we have received your recorded deed from the county and we are now processing the documents but it can take up to 90 days from today to process the paperwork and acknowledge the transfer.

Me: So How long have you had the recorded deed in your possession

SDO: It's only been since July.

Me: So it now takes 7 months for process the paperwork to make me the new owner?

SDO: We are a bit behind and short staffed

Dang, at this rate, it will be 2025 till I get this in my name
