I've been hearing 12 weeks from closing lately. I'm currently at week 10 after the deed was recorded and sent to Vistana/Sheraton and still waiting.

We bought a Westin unit. Escrow took 2 months. Closed Oct. 15. We just got an email from Westin that the transfer was completed today, 12/29. So 4.5 months beginning to end. And I was timely with all requests. I know have to wait to until I am in system to log on to make reservation. I hope that happens in next week.
did you buy it via redweek? they seem to take so long. 2 weeks no paper work
No via ad here. There was a divorce involved so getting signatures was difficult. That was 2 months to close escrow, then another 2+ for Westin side to transfer. Now website still won't let me book. Maybe by end of this week.
Is this your first ownership? If not you may have to have your accounts merged and it seems Marriott is having an issue with this because of what they did to the vistana IT.
I own Marriott and am on II. It is my first Sheraton purchase yes
Have you setup a Vistana.com web profile? Do you have the contract number? If so, you should be able to connect your ownership and then access it online.

Sorry, it looks like I got you and @sponger76 mixed up and I thought I was replying to them. If you are just at the start of the process, no need to setup a Vistana.com profile yet and you won't be able to connect ownership until it is in your name.
No, not my first ownership, but it is my first Vistana resale. I already have a Vistana (retail) VOI I have been using for the past year.
I do have a Vistana profile, and I do have the contract number for the new (to me) resale purchase. I'm assuming I'll have to call to connect it to my existing ownership. I don't see any way online to add it.
If it were your first Vistana ownership, connecting it online is easy. Of you already own Vistana, you will need to call Vistana to see if they can get it added to your existing account. Are all your ownerships mandatory?
The contract number is on the original deed from Vistana to their first buyer. The contract number stays with the deed and doesn't change. You can't get it added to your account until it is in your name.
My original ownership is retail. But that as well as the new pickup (which was essentially free) are Sheraton Flex, so not mandatory.

The contract number doesn’t change. You can probably pull the contract number from the closing documents or just reach out to the seller and ask for the VOI contract number. Then take that number back to vistana and they can see if it’s under your name or not. If it’s been a while, it’s probably under your name just in a different account that you don’t see
