Do You want to share how many days/weeks you used your TS or exchanges in 2021? Just curious if your TS use was different from pre-Covid years. We spent 101 days away from home, 31 of those in TS. Not much difference from previous years.
We used following TS weeks:
Winter Park, CO - own
Sedona, AZ -exchanges
Hawaii, HI
Las Vegas, NV

None.

We were supposed to go to Newport RI on a timeshare trade in October but never made it due to Southwest Airline's problems. Most of the year we spent dealing with health issues, surgeries and recoveries.

I’m so sorry to hear you’ve had to deal with so many health issues. I hope things are better now.

None.

Thanks. Things are better. If we had to go through all of it, it was a perfect time since we weren't going anywhere.

We mostly did trips within a short drive. We did go to Sedona in April, great trip. We went to Orange Lake in September, Satellite Beach in November. A quick trip to Massachusetts in June. A few hotel stays within FL . 2021 was mostly backyard by the pool. A weekend trip to Charleston in October .
Going to Europe, In 2022 on a River Cruise in May ( fingers crossed) Timeshare in March in Hollywood, FL, Timeshare in June in Vermont, Timeshare at Jensen Beach in December. 2022.

70 timeshare nights and 4 hotel nights. We had a bunch of exchanges that we had to push out from last year, so we traveled more this year than last. At the end of this year we had a high concentration of travel -- 6 timeshares in about 10 weeks. It was actually a bit too much travel and we needed more "down" time. In 2022, the trips are more spaced out.

2021 stats:

10 days with Vistana
28 Marriott paid hotel nights (not including Vistana)
22 paid hotel nights with Hyatt (not including the 11 bonus promo nights from earlier this year)

It’s above 2019 but well below pre-pandemic.

217 nights in timeshare in 2021 for us. We also had about 14 nights in hotel stays. This is above normal and higher than the 174 timeshare nights we stayed in timeshare in 2020.

Our TS use in both 2020 and 2021 is very easy to tally. Zero. Typically prior to Covid it was about 15 to 20 nights per year. The US land border was closed to Canadians for most of 2020 and it didn't open until November 2021. That wasn't in enough time to avoid cancelling our reservations totalling 22 nights last month in Florida and South Carolina.

We managed 3 TS weeks in '21, and have two booked in '22. That leaves about 3 weeks worth of points on the books and more will be credited in March. <shrug>

We were on the road A LOT this year but most of it was the result of being driven out of our apartment in the big Texas freeze in February when it flooded and there wasn't another apartment available for us to move to. So, we set out on a bit of a wandering journey to Scottsdale, Vegas, Orlando, Texas, New Smyrna Beach, and currently Key West. We ended up returning to our apartment in Texas in July but still traveled some as we tried to decide where the heck we wanted to buy a new house (still no decision on that - LoL). We spent time at our daughter's new home helping her paint and other projects, saw some MLB playoff games, etc. So, we ended up being on the road 220 nights - 133 in timeshares and the other 87 in hotels. We used Getaways for a significant portion of those but used our own TS weeks as well.

It's been a crazy year for us and we traveled way more than we ever do. No wonder I'm tired!!! I'm hoping we make a decision on a house soon so I can get a bit more settled in. Just have to decide where that's going to be. We might just settle in Texas for good but we'll see.

We used 3 timeshare weeks-all trades. 6 2-4 nights hotels. All driving trips. No “big” usual travel, which we do eoy.

Curious how many @Clifbell may have stayed. I think he is FTT in 2021?

None in 2020. Only one week in 2021. But we also moved this year, and we spent 6 weeks in hotels (two-bedroom suites) in between houses.

5 days San Miguel Allende in April 2021
7 days FAVC Cancun in June 2021
7 days Westin Laguna Mar Cancun in July 2021
7 days FAVC Los Cabos in November 2021
3 days hotel San Antonio Tx in December 2021 ( after open the border)

I was in a timeshare just about every week in 2021. I stay in D.C. for work at either Old Town Alexandria or The District. I vacation in Williamsburg and Orlando and stay in timeshares there as well.

3 Timeshare weeks—about usual
1 Beach week with kids
1 Photography trip to Alaska in June
2 weeks camping in local state park
2022
3 Timeshare weeks
1 beach week
About two weeks camping local

4 weeks this year in a TS. (3 weeks Hawaii, 1 in NYC).

We also spent several long weekends using free credit card nights that were going to expire in Vegas, and San Francisco.

We had a total of 74 days. 3 weeks San Jose del Cabo in 3 different Timeshares. 18 days in Arizona - 2 different timeshare. 4 of the days were traveling to and from but each night was in a timeshare. 14 days in Windsor, CA. 14 days in Victoria, B.C. 7 days in Seaside Oregon. This is about average for us.

5 Weeks on Maui in Feb - Mar. About normal. Missed Maui in 2020.

1- 4 day fishing trip to Vancouver Is. Usually a 4 day trip and a 6 day trip. Missed the longer trip due to border restrictions.

5 Nights at Newport Coast in Oct. Normal

25 Nights nights Oct - Nov at Desert Springs I. Normal stay for either Shadow Ridge or DS.

For 2022:
1 Week at DS in Jan.
5+ Weeks on Maui, Mar - Apr
6 Nights May on V. Is. Fishing trip
4 Nights July on V. Is. Fishing
25 Nights Oct - Nov at Shadow Ridge.

When you're 87, you need a plan to keep yourself going!!!

I stayed about 35 weeks in timeshares... This was just a quick look back at my calendar.... I am working on my calculations to see how many free hotel nights I earned this year.... I think it is over 50 free nights... Working on the video I will do for next week.
