Just wondering if there are any Cranberry owners here? Let's create a private message group and talk about your experiences over the past few years of having a hard time with availability....what is going on?!?!?!?

1) If you signed a contract at a Canadian resort and reside in Canada - you are probably on the hook for 25 yearsHi
Yes, we have had a point 'owner' at Vitality Assurance Vacations ( Cranberry) since 2016, but NEVER USED ONE POINT !
We had no interest in golfing, skiing etc., but had been on a number of cruises, and were assured by their sales guy, Mike Kelly, at the high pressure sit down, that the points were valid for cruising as well as at other resorts, through RCI . .
NOT SO . .
So I asked for a termination / cancellation whatever, and after being stone walled for months, was told that there was no way to end this contract, and further more, we were obligated for 25 years !!! CRAP! .... Ridiculous !
I'd love to hear from ANYBODY who has successfully stopped this abusive situation.
Hi, when we asked initially how to use our points as payment on cruises, we were basically told that we would be paying almost as much in ‘service fees, as we would if we just booked on our own….so NOT SO, just more BS.1) If you signed a contract at a Canadian resort and reside in Canada - you are probably on the hook for 25 years
unless you wish to stop paying and enter a collection process that could affect your credit.
2) Re: RCI - you should be able to deposit you "week" into RCI and get use.
@Pianoguy - can you explain what you mean by "NOT SO" regarding RCI .
3) Do not pay anybody to help you "exit your TS" as those companies take your money too.
Thank you for sharing! They are always trying to get me to convert to points for an additional fee but didn’t know the 50 year reset!I am a Cranberry owner also. Bought weeks then was convinced to convert to points. This started the clock over again at 50 years by which time my husband will be 129! Trying to give it away as the annual fees are too high for what we get and we are not interested in this sort of vacation any more.
I'm also a Cranberry owner. Did you stop paying maintenance fees? I did, going to collections in 2 week's. Can't draw blood from a stone. Anyone else with experience doing this?I am a Cranberry owner also. Bought weeks then was convinced to convert to points. Yes I been looking for updates also, tried selling it also. We even went back the next morning to ask to not go through with it and he told us it was too late and come to find we have mtime after signing to back out. We'll that's what I read somewhere.Any update on consequences of not paying your fees? I am thinking about doing this too! We don't want our membership anymore and have struggled to even give it away.
What happened? Just got our maintenance fee, have to pay by August 15 to avoid interest charges, it's over $1500!I'm also a Cranberry owner. Did you stop paying maintenance fees? I did, going to collections in 2 week's. Can't draw blood from a stone. Anyone else with experience doing this?
Whoa…that’s crazy. Mine was a little over $1200, but mine is every other year. What happened? Just got our maintenance fee, have to pay by August 15 to avoid interest charges, it's over $1500!
To #1 Vacatoner: You mentioned they pay every other year...so do I. However I have recently found out VAV has over charged for maintenance fees in the past to the amount a little over $270.00. What is in the contract is the fee plus the Canadian Price Index (+ 2%) to be paid every other year. VAV is charging the CPI for EVERY year, and tacking it on then charging the HST on the overall total. Very Scamy! AND, they won't put their GST/HST number on any invoice, and won't give it out if you contact them. By law, this number has to be available to all customers. Then, add in the fact CPI rate for every June, is not even released until every July 15th (this is on the CPI website), yet they pass out invoices (not to me, but that's another scam) on June 30th. So where are they getting the CPI rate from?... are just making it up? A few years ago they tried to change the date the maintenance fees were due, from Jan. 1st to July. I wouldn't except it, and demanded they stick to the contract, and the due date of Jan. 1st. of the usage year. Not this year though. They get nothing until they pay back what is owed to me. As far as I'm concerned it's a breach of contract. I can only wonder how many bi-yearly customers they are doing this to? Think about how VAV are charging CPI on a unit in your OFF year, while ALSO charging the CPI on the same week for another customer in their ON year. Double dipping is a scam! Would love to join a class action suit. If there is a group to join about this, would some one please let me know? I've also posted about this scam to the BBB. Everyone who has a time share at VAV/Living Waters Resort, READ YOUR CONTRACT!! Did you also know you don't have to be a member of Interval International? It's a voluntary membership, as listed in my contract. They tried to make me pay a membership fee, by hiding it in with the maintinance fees. Nope! I would'nt let them. Again..READ YOUR CONTRACTS!Whoa…that’s crazy. Mine was a little over $1200, but mine is every other year.
See my other post. I'm about to ignore the upcoming maintenance fee due date (Jan. 1st, 2026) if they do not refund to me $ they overcharged since 2015. I am also a stone.....hahahI'm also a Cranberry owner. Did you stop paying maintenance fees? I did, going to collections in 2 week's. Can't draw blood from a stone. Anyone else with experience doing this?

Check your contract. You do not have to pay by August 15th unless it's in your contract. They tried to pull that stunt with me, but my contract says Jan.1st of the usage year is when fees are due. If they are trying to collect fees early AND charge late fees, it's not allowed. Don't let Vitality Assurance Vacations bully you! Furthermore, if you are a member of Interval International, they hide that fee in with maintenance fees. In my contract the II membership is purely optional. I opted OUT, as I don't use that service and only spend my points in Collingwood at Living Waters Resort. If you are fine with being an II member then please disregard. However, opting out is a good choice, as if one year you DO want to put your points elsewhere, you can always just sign up to be a member again, and pay the fee. What happened? Just got our maintenance fee, have to pay by August 15 to avoid interest charges, it's over $1500!
