[2018] Marriott's Florida Club

We own at Legends edge and trade it every year. We also own points. Each year, six months before our LE season starts (what we own at Legends Edge) at Grand Vista (owning gold at LE = trading in to gold at GV), we call Owner Services, tell them we want 2 GV (for example) units, one 1 Br and 1 lockoff.. They tell us what is available and we book it with NO Fee by virtue of being a points owner. We then either use the GV units or trade them thru II.

When I make the phone call I first ask if the rep is familiar with Florida Club and if not, ask to speak with someone who is familiar with doing Florida Club trades.

It is tedious, but it gets the job done. Several fees would be involved if not enrolled in the points program

Hope this helps. It is not possible to do online.
Well, the Florida Club impacts a pretty small number of owners overall. I beleive if you own a lock off you can book a lock off at another property online. Just owning a dedicated 2BR and trying to lock off seems to be an issue. I can understand why they wouldn't invest any more time or money into technology to support this.

Incidentally our deed specifically says we can trade and lock off. Not all LE deeds say this.

There are no lockout's at LE but all LE owners are in the FL Club and thus have to opportunity to lockout through the FC.

You're actually not trading, but you are reserving at another member of the Florida Club at a Resort which offer a lock off capable unit (all members of the Florida Club do have lock off capable units except Legends Edge and Doral).

You trade via Interval International and you can not lock off and make two deposits of a Legend's Edge Villa into Interval International, however, if you want to lock off and make two deposits into I.I. then you need to first reserve at a Florida Club member Resort, lock it off, and then you can deposit two units directly into I.I.

.

The ability to lock off wouldn't normally be written into the deed. It would be part of the underlying CC&R for the resort/condominium. I beleive the Florida Club rules are part of the CC&Rs for the resorts in the Florida Club.
