[ 2018 ] Banyan Resort Key West - Looking for Owners

good morning!

I’m a new owner of two weeks at the Banyan Resort in Key West, Florida. Having just spent my first week there, I would love to hook up with other owners and start an internet group of owners to talk and share experiences and maybe set up trading and selling and buying. Would love to hear from you if you’re an owner!

I just left there. I love it! Which week were you there?

I own 3 weeks there, technically 4 until one sells. I just listed week 44 for sale with Amy the realtor there and acquired a later week instead that works so much better for us.

We were there week 44 in unit 804!! So glad I snagged both of my weeks earlier this year. I already can’t wait to go back!

We were there week 44 too, unit 608. Might be there next year if it doesn’t sell. We opted to get week 46 instead. When is your second week?

I have week 43 in unit 102. The previous owner used that this year since she had paid the MFs.

Both your weeks are desirable. With Week 43 you will have Fantesy Fest for the Saturday you are checking in for 2019. We once hit it for week 44. Sometimes the boat races fall out week 44 too.

We have two weeks same unit 701 in the winter. It was finding a needle in the haystack, two different owners owned them and did contingency contracts one does not close without the other.

Did you use in house agent Amy to buy or did you do a private sale?

I did a private sale through TUG. I don’t even know why I saw the listing but when I did I jumped. Same owner selling both together. I didn’t really need both, but the price was too good to pass up. Considering using one and possibly exchanging one each year, but I need to do more research on the II process.

I don't travel anymore (health and age) but spent a lot of time in Key West over the years. IMO the Banyan is the best Resort on the Island...

If you are on Facebook do a search to see if there is a group for owners on there. Many resorts (rather owners of the resort) are starting owner groups up. Our NE FL timeshare has one and it is an easy way for owners to rent additional weeks, buy weeks or exchange with each other to avoid RCI/II fees.

With that said, you should email to Amy Lynch at the Banyan Resort and she will provide you all the photos you need for unit 804. Amy is the on site Broker for the Banyan Resort and is excellent to deal with.
