If you purchase a resale Marriott week in a location (USA) that has lockoff units and dedicated 2 bedrooms will you always have the option to book a lock off if one available for the dates you choose? I guess my question is the lock off designation in the contract/deed that we would agree to?
Any resort that has lock off units and you buy into that same unit type, then you always have the option of locking off. It is of course based on availability. A resort like Harbour Lake that has over 300 2BR units but only 48 lock off. Every owner has the option to lock off but obviously not everyone can because the resort isn't all lock off units.
Even a resort like Lakeshore Reserve that has some different kind of units with 2BR and 3BR townhomes as well as deluxe and standard 2BR units and 3BR and 2BR flats that lock off and some that don't even allow you to lock off. Again based on availability.
For a resort like Ocean Pointe that is 100% lock off units there usually isn't an issue. Though sometimes they do block the ability to lock off units because of occupancy and parking issues. They don't have enough parking for one car per individual unit component as they expected many units wouldn't lock off.
I am not aware that there are any new resorts with lock outs. Perhaps Costa Rica? Marriott has been sparse on new resorts with 2BR or larger units in the last decade.
