Hello,
Does anyone know if that an owner (this is his home resort) will have to pay any additional "daily resort amenity fees” or additional taxes that might applied" upon check out? I told him there probably is a charge for parking, but other than that I wasn't sure..Please advise

I believe there is nightly occupancy tax that will be charged. No parking charge unless you use valet after the first night.

There are no mandatory resort fees for owners.

However, the County of Maui will charge a local occupancy tax at check-out which is about $5-$14 dollars per day, depending on the size of the unit.

What a rip-off. Owners pay property tax AND TOT. Its enough to make one dump tea in the harbor.

My single biggest expense upon check-out is all those lava flows I ordered poolside.

YES, my mouth is watering :whoopie:

Make one at home:

1 oz. light rum
1 oz. Malibu® coconut rum
2 oz. fresh or frozen strawberries
1 small banana
2 oz. unsweetened pineapple juice
2 oz. coconut cream

Preparation:
Blend the 2 rums and the strawberries in a blender to form a smooth paste. Pour this mixture into a tall (Collins or Hurricane) glass. Rinse the blender. Blend the banana, the coconut cream, and the pineapple juice in blender with crushed ice until smooth. Pour this mixture into the glass with the rums very slowly and watch as the strawberry mixture oozes its way to the top along the sides of the glass creating the flowing lava effect. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and paper umbrella.

oooh, something to do at Waikiki :)
:D :D :D :D

The Westin Hotel charges a $25 per day resort fee. They say for Internet access, the shuttle, plus you get TWO free bottles of water!

Meanwhile, back at WKORVN, I can tell you the daily tax for a 1BR premium is $6.07.

We were always charged for parking, even though we didn't use valet. We have been exchangers four times...

The last time, I told Rick to refuse to pay the parking, and they took it off. I was always so grateful to get the Westin, so I was a lot more willing to accept the extra charges of the parking fees. I don't feel that way anymore, after the check-in desk at the Westin south treated us like usurpers last time.

I would stay there over and over in an island view, though, if we could get it for our dates. I am happy with the regular old resorts, but I do miss the fabulous beds and whirlpool tubs.

That's weird. Never been charged a self-parking fee at WKORV or WKORVN. We've stayed there as owners, exchangers, and on Interval Getaways. You were absolutely right to ask them to take the fee off your bill.

I know this thread is OLD!
I was fortunate enough to purchase a Getaway for this month. I connected my Marriott number to the reservation by calling them. When I looked up the reservation, it said there was a $15 charge to park. Are they going to charge me...should I ask them to remove it?
Many thanks,
Mabel

No, they won't charge it. Just use self parking, and you won't be charged. Our son just stayed there in February on exchange, and he incurred no parking fees by parking in the lot or the structure. But that was an exchange.

The spa fees are crazy. I mean absolutely nuts. My kids are spoiled.

I just finished my week at Westin Kaanapali Ocean Villas. Quite a place! I'm happy to report I was not charged a parking fee (self parked).

Thank you rickandcindy23 for the information you gave me. I won the lottery on that Getaway!!!

If you book via marriott.com paying cash or using Bonvoy points you will be charged for parking. I assume it is the same booking via Expedia, etc.
